YouTube Studio can schedule the live event and its watch page, but it does not itself play a rotating playlist of prerecorded product demos. To run demos continuously, schedule the event in Studio and use an encoder or playout service that explicitly supports scheduled, continuous playback. For a one-time broadcast, a local encoder can send the video; for an always-on YouTube rotation, StreamNeo is the first cloud option to consider: it loops uploaded videos without a computer running, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
What YouTube scheduling does—and what it does not do
Scheduling in YouTube Studio creates a live event and a watch page that you can promote. YouTube Help says, “Scheduling a stream lets you promote your stream.” The video feed still has to come from an encoder or playout system connected to that event. YouTube’s official guidance does not document native Studio scheduling of a multi-video playlist as a continuous live feed. YouTube’s encoder setup guide
In other words, scheduling the stream does not automatically play your demo files. Choose a playback method that can send the prerecorded video at the time and for the duration you need.
Choose the right setup for your demo
| Workflow | What gets scheduled | What plays the demos | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| One scheduled broadcast | The YouTube live event and watch page | An encoder running on a computer, or another compatible encoder | A timed launch, product walkthrough, or demonstration with an operator present |
| Continuous prerecorded rotation | The YouTube event, plus the playback schedule supported by the chosen playout system | An encoder or hosted playout service with continuous playback and scheduling | A repeating set of product demos intended to run beyond a single attended session |
For a camera or HDMI device, an encoder production may use external video hardware such as a capture card. It is optional: screen sharing and prerecorded video files do not require one. YouTube’s encoder setup guide

Schedule a single YouTube Live product demo
- Enable live streaming early. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours. Do not wait until the event day to enable it. YouTube’s encoder setup guide
- Create the event. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, open Manage, then choose Schedule stream. Reuse settings or create a new stream. Set the title, date and time, visibility, and other event metadata. You can then share the scheduled watch page so viewers can find the event and set reminders. YouTube’s encoder setup guide
- Prepare the encoder. Use a direct YouTube connection in your encoder if available. Otherwise, enter the event’s stream URL and stream key. The key authorizes the encoder to send video, so treat it like a password: do not publish it or share it with viewers. YouTube’s live-stream settings include stream-key and auto-start/auto-stop controls; check the actual event settings rather than assuming how it will behave. YouTube’s live-stream settings guide
- Start early and check the preview. YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before an event and starting it at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start. Confirm picture and sound in Live Control Room. Click Go live when the preview is ready unless the event’s configured auto-start behavior takes that step for you. - Monitor the broadcast. Watch for audio or video problems during the demo. If you are recording a local backup, confirm that the recording file is growing rather than assuming it started.
Run a continuous rotation of prerecorded demos
For a repeating or 24/7 rotation, the playback system—not the Studio event scheduler—must handle the order and continuous playback of your uploaded videos. Before choosing an encoder or service, verify that its documentation explicitly covers scheduled, continuous prerecorded playback. Also check how it reconnects after interruptions and what monitoring it provides; those features are vendor-specific, not guaranteed by YouTube’s scheduling tools.
YouTube’s encoder Help page lists Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. That listing alone does not establish its current price, program terms, or every operational feature, so confirm those details with the provider. YouTube’s encoder setup guide

Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping a channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the videos from the cloud, so no computer, OBS, or home internet connection has to stay on. Automatic recovery can resume the stream if YouTube drops it. Every slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers; a slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across your active slots. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for plan details, or start the free first day.
Plan for the YouTube replay separately
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. For important product demos, make an independent local recording and do not promise viewers a complete replay of an uninterrupted multi-day stream. YouTube’s archive guidance

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The event is scheduled, but there is no video. Studio scheduling creates the event, not its feed. Start the encoder or playout system and verify that it is connected to the event’s stream URL and key.
- The encoder is sending video, but the event has not gone live. Check Live Control Room for the preview and inspect the event’s auto-start setting. If auto-start is off, click Go live when ready. YouTube’s live-stream settings guide
- The stream key does not connect. Confirm the encoder is using the key associated with the scheduled event, and keep the key private. If using a direct integration, verify that the correct event is selected.
- Live streaming is unavailable on a new setup. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable the feature ahead of the planned broadcast. YouTube’s encoder setup guide
- The replay is missing or incomplete. A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be archived. Keep a separate recording for a demo that must be available afterward. YouTube’s archive guidance
- A playlist will not keep playing continuously. Confirm that the encoder or service supports a scheduled continuous rotation of prerecorded files; YouTube Studio’s event scheduler is not documented as a playlist playout system.
Protect the demo and the channel
Only stream video and audio you have the rights to use, including music, product footage, and any third-party material included in a demo. Review YouTube’s current live-stream requirements and your own licenses before scheduling. Keep the stream key private, and use event visibility settings that match whether the demo is public, unlisted, or private. For stream configuration and event settings, see YouTube’s live-stream settings guide.
