Choose OBS Studio if you want free software, direct control and can keep your computer and internet connection running. Choose LiveReacting if you need cloud-hosted prerecorded playback, scheduling or 24/7 looping without leaving your computer on. For an always-on YouTube stream without managing a local setup, StreamNeo is another cloud option. Whichever workflow you choose, first confirm that you have broadcast rights to the actual devotional recording and every visual asset.

OBS or LiveReacting: which fits your stream?

Decision OBS Studio LiveReacting
Where the stream runs On your computer. The computer and network must stay online for the stream to continue. LiveReacting describes prerecorded and 24/7 output from its servers, so your computer can be off. This is a vendor feature claim, not an independent reliability test.
Looping Add a Media Source and enable Loop; a VLC Video Source can supply a playlist. Upload videos, create a playlist or loop a file, then stream from the cloud.
Control Adjust encoder, bitrate, resolution and frame rate in OBS; you can also record locally. Controls and limits depend on the plan. LiveReacting says streams can be managed in a browser.
Scheduling You start OBS yourself; scheduling may require a third-party plugin. Paid plans provide scheduling; repeated scheduling is described for certain plans.
Cost The software is free. Computer, power and internet costs depend on what you already have. LiveReacting’s comparison lists plans starting at $19.99/month for prerecorded streams and $39.99/month for 24/7. These are vendor-listed prices checked September 25, 2026; verify current prices and plan limits before subscribing.
Best fit Free, hands-on operation and local control. Scheduled or unattended playback when cloud operation is worth a recurring subscription.

LiveReacting feature descriptions and listed prices are from its comparison and pricing pages, accessed October 4, 2026. They are vendor claims, not independent tests of uptime or reliability.

Check YouTube eligibility and rights first

Confirm that your channel can go live

YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. The minimum age to live stream is 16. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and confirm access before setting up either workflow.

Clear the actual music and visuals

A devotional subject does not automatically make a recording free to broadcast. Check rights for the specific sound recording and composition, as applicable, along with any video, photograph, artwork or other visual asset. YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility on the provider to hold the rights needed to use Live Content, including music licensing rights. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content; a match can trigger a warning, interrupt the stream or terminate it. Even licensed content may need the rights owner’s channel allowlist to avoid interruption. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Loop a devotional video with OBS

This method is for a prepared video file played from your computer, not a live camera broadcast. OBS interface wording can vary by version, but the core workflow is to add a looping media source, connect it to YouTube and start the broadcast.

  1. Prepare the file. Keep the video accessible on the computer that will run OBS. Confirm that its audio and visuals are cleared for broadcast, and test playback from beginning to end.
  2. Enable YouTube Live. Verify channel eligibility and open YouTube Studio’s live control room. Create or schedule a stream and retrieve its stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, share it, or include it in a screenshot.
  3. Set OBS to send to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and connect the account or use the stream-key option shown for your setup. If using a key, paste the key from YouTube Studio and keep it private.
  4. Add the video. In the OBS scene you intend to broadcast, use Sources > + > Media Source, select the local file and enable Loop. Check that the source is visible and its audio meter moves. For a playlist, add a VLC Video Source and configure its playlist instead; VLC support depends on the VLC media player being installed.
  5. Set output to match your connection and source. In Settings > Output, configure the encoder and video bitrate; in Settings > Video, set the output resolution and frame rate. YouTube’s current recommended values should be checked against its live encoder settings guidance for your chosen resolution and frame rate. Use a stable wired connection where possible, and leave upload headroom rather than setting bitrate at the maximum your connection sometimes reaches.
  6. Start and verify the live stream. Click Start Streaming in OBS and check YouTube Studio for the incoming signal and preview before confirming the broadcast. Monitor the output, audio and connection; the local computer, OBS and network all need to remain running.

What to expect from a long stream

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. Those are YouTube platform limits, not OBS or LiveReacting settings. If you need a recording, keep a separate local archive where practical and consult YouTube’s archive guidance and DVR guidance before planning an unbroken broadcast.

Its comparison lists a prerecorded-stream plan starting at $19.99/month and a 24/7 plan starting at $39.99/month, checked September 25, 2026. Plan features and limits matter, so confirm the current details on LiveReacting’s pricing page before paying. These prices are not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.

Or let it run in the cloud

Monthly: $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or plan details. UPI and cards are supported in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Start the free day on StreamNeo.

Common problems and fixes

  • YouTube does not receive a signal: Confirm OBS is connected to the intended YouTube service or that the stream key is current, then check the OBS connection status and internet upload stability. Never post a stream key publicly.
  • The video stops at the end: Reopen the Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled. If using a VLC playlist, verify that the playlist contains the expected files and that VLC is installed.
  • There is no audio: Check the source’s audio meter in OBS, the selected audio device or track, and YouTube’s preview before going live. Confirm the video file itself has an audible track.
  • The stream drops when you leave: OBS runs on the local computer, so sleep, shutdown, a crash or lost connectivity can end the stream. Prevent sleep during a broadcast and monitor the connection; if your computer must be off, choose a cloud workflow instead.
  • YouTube interrupts or terminates the broadcast: Check Studio notifications and resolve any rights or third-party-content match. A devotional theme alone does not clear the recording or artwork; obtain permission for the actual assets and ask the rights owner about allowlisting if relevant.
  • The archive or rewind is missing: Check stream duration. YouTube says streams over 12 hours may not be archived and DVR may be limited or unavailable beyond that threshold.

Which should you pick?

For a Hindi devotional loop, use OBS when free local control is worth keeping a computer and connection online. Use LiveReacting when its scheduled, server-hosted workflow is more important than avoiding a subscription. Consider StreamNeo if you want a cloud loop with a flat per-slot price across supported quality, without leaving a home computer running. In every case, clear the actual music and visual rights and plan for YouTube’s long-stream archive and DVR limits.
