In the US, Microsoft announced $50 off the 1TB Xbox Series X through November 23 and $50 off the 512GB Xbox Series S from November 21 to December 2, alongside up to 55% off digital games. Those were regional, time-limited terms—not current prices or a guarantee of the lowest price of the year.
What Xbox’s 2024 Black Friday sale actually included
Before the sale, shoppers could reasonably expect Xbox hardware and games to feature in Black Friday offers. Microsoft’s November 15, 2024 US announcement confirmed discounts on two console configurations, selected controllers and digital games. It did not establish every retailer’s bundle or price. Kevin Hooper, Xbox Senior Manager, Global Campaigns, cautioned: “Console & accessory offers will vary by market and by retailer.” Xbox Wire’s US announcement is the source for the promotion summary and dates.
The official terms support a historical fact check, not a claim that any particular forecast came true: without the original forecast’s specific predictions, it cannot be checked item by item.
US console discounts: Series X and Series S
| Console configuration | Announced discount | US offer window |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X, 1TB | $50 off | Through November 23, 2024 |
| Xbox Series S, 512GB | $50 off | November 21 through December 2, 2024 |
Both listed configurations received the same announced dollar discount, but their offer windows differed: the Series X promotion ended earlier. These figures describe Microsoft’s US promotion, not necessarily every retailer’s price or a shopper’s final checkout total.

Were Xbox controllers on sale?
Yes. Microsoft announced discounts on selected Xbox Wireless Controllers, but the pages do not describe identical offer terms. The Xbox Wire summary refers to selected controller offers in two windows: November 21–December 2 and December 13–22, 2024. Microsoft’s US Devices Blog specifies $10 off select Xbox Wireless Controllers from November 22 to December 2. Neither summary alone supports applying one price or date range to every controller model. Check the archived offer terms for the exact model and period before treating a particular discount as confirmed.
Which Xbox games were included, and when did the sale end?
Xbox advertised up to 55% off digital games in the US and said more than 1,000 games were included. The offer ran through December 2, 2024. “Up to” is the maximum advertised discount, not a blanket reduction: the discount depended on the individual game, and the announcement does not mean every title was 55% off. Xbox Wire published a title-by-title list with its Black Friday offer announcement.

What these historical offers can—and cannot—tell you
- They confirm the announced promotion: Microsoft’s sources document the US console, controller and digital-game offers, plus a separate set of Spain offers.
- They do not establish a market-wide lowest price: the listed discounts are not evidence that a product was cheaper than at every other point in 2024.
- They do not establish current availability or pricing: these announcements concern a completed 2024 sale, not today’s stock, retailer bundles or prices.
- For another country, use local terms: Xbox Wire described the US promotion as US-only and directed readers to local Xbox.com or Microsoft Store pages. Console and accessory offers could vary by market and retailer.
