In Gray Zone Warfare’s Update 0.4, you can trade loot with vendors to earn money and vendor reputation. The separate rogue-PMC smuggling loop, described as “completely new smuggling activities,” is planned for Update 0.5: Rogue Ops; as of October 3, 2026, it is not yet live and no official guide to finding or selling contraband has been published.
How selling items works in Update 0.4
Trade items you have found with vendors. The official Update 0.4 documentation says trading items and completing tasks earn vendor reputation. Raising reputation advances vendor levels, which unlock more regions, harder and more rewarding tasks, and access to better weapons, gear, and items. MADFINGER Games described the progression in its March 18, 2026 devlog.
Update 0.4 also reworked vendor stock and progression. The launch notes say vendors no longer sell limited quantities of items. That stock change concerns buying from vendors; it does not mean the new Update 0.5 smuggling system is already available. See the Update 0.4 launch notes.
How Update 0.5 smuggling differs
MADFINGER’s October 1 teaser for Update 0.5: Rogue Ops announced a new gameplay loop involving crafting and building a Hideout, alongside the option to play as a rogue PMC taking part in “completely new smuggling activities.” The teaser does not specify where contraband appears, how to carry or deliver it, which buyers accept it, or what it sells for. Those steps should not be treated as established mechanics until official details or the live game confirm them.

The teaser planned the full Update 0.5 launch for October 22, 2026, with Supporter Preview beginning October 19. Both dates were plans, not confirmation of availability; check the current game announcements for any changes.

Check before selling valuable or unfamiliar loot
A community new-player guide advises keeping keys and task-related objects until you know whether they are needed. Also, vendor sell values can change between patches. For example, Patch 0.4.2 adjusted the ATM hacking tool’s sell price. Do not rely on an old price list without checking which game version it describes. See the Patch 0.4.2 notes.

What to do when Update 0.5 is available
- Check the in-game tutorial and current official Update 0.5 notes for confirmed contraband locations, delivery steps, buyers, and prices.
- Keep keys and task-related items until you have checked their relevance.
- Use price information only when it identifies the game version it applies to, since patches may change sell values.
