There is no single reliable rupee total without knowing the mini PC’s average power draw at the wall and the electricity rate that applies to your household. For a 30-day month, a 24/7 stream runs for 720 hours: multiply average watts by 0.72 to get monthly kilowatt-hours, then multiply by your applicable per-unit rate to estimate the added energy charge.
Calculate the mini PC’s monthly electricity use
Use the computer’s average wall draw while it is doing the actual streaming job—not the power adapter’s maximum rating. The calculation for a 30-day month is:
Monthly kWh = average wall watts × 720 ÷ 1,000
Equivalently, each average watt sustained for the month uses 0.72 kWh. These examples show the arithmetic only; they are not measurements of a particular mini PC:

To estimate the marginal energy charge, multiply the resulting kWh by the applicable rupees-per-kWh rate. The result is not necessarily the full change to the electricity bill: fixed charges and other bill components may not rise in direct proportion to one additional device.

Use the tariff that applies to your Delhi home
BSES Delhi’s 2025 information guide lists domestic energy-charge bands of Rs 3/kWh for 0–200 units, Rs 4.50/kWh for 201–400 units, Rs 6.50/kWh for 401–800 units, Rs 7/kWh for 801–1200 units, and Rs 8/kWh above 1200 units. Your distribution utility and total household use matter. DERC’s tariff-orders listing includes BRPL and TPDDL entries dated 31 December 2025, but those entries alone do not establish each area’s current effective domestic energy rate and all bill adjustments. The CEA tariff book reproduces Delhi rates stated effective 1 October 2021; that is historical information, not proof of the current 2026 rate. Measure the workload you will actually run
Measure at the wall
A plug-in power meter can capture the mini PC’s electrical input. Measure while it is streaming with the resolution, frame rate, codec, and content you intend to use; take an average over representative operation rather than relying on a brief peak or an advertised adapter rating. If your estimate is meant to cover the whole setup, include any networking or capture equipment you want counted. Otherwise, label it as the mini PC alone.
Keep encoder settings and electricity use separate
YouTube’s live encoder guidance recommends different bitrates depending on codec, resolution, and frame rate. For H.264, its table lists 14 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 8 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps; it specifies CBR and recommends a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. YouTube also transcodes incoming live streams into multiple output formats. These settings help define the workload and stream quality, but they do not tell you how many watts a particular mini PC draws. YouTube live encoder settings.

YouTube recommends leaving roughly 20% upload-bandwidth headroom and testing the stream while monitoring stream health. That can help with network reliability, but upload bitrate is not a substitute for measuring electrical input. YouTube streaming tips.
Estimate your own added energy charge
- Measure or establish the mini PC’s average wall draw in watts during the intended stream.
- Multiply that figure by 0.72 for estimated kWh over a 30-day, 720-hour month.
- Use the rate applicable to your household’s utility and consumption, checking the current bill or tariff schedule.
- Multiply the added kWh by that rate. Treat the result as an energy-charge estimate, not automatically as the total bill increase.
For example, if your measured average were 20 W, the device would use 14.4 kWh in 720 hours. The rupee estimate depends on your applicable rate and bill adjustments. This example illustrates the formula only; it is not a measured mini PC result or a definitive Delhi household price.
