To use PNGTuber Maker with Live3D, download PngTuber Maker by YiMeta on Steam, load at least two PNG images with different expressions, select your microphone, and adjust the sound threshold until the avatar changes reliably when you speak. Then use its virtual-camera output in your streaming setup, checking that your broadcast software can capture it before going live.
Get the correct PNGTuber Maker
This guide covers the Steam application PngTuber Maker by YiMeta, not similarly named browser-based avatar makers or other PNGTuber apps. Download it from its Steam product page. A Streamlabs tutorial also describes using this application for streaming.
The Steam listing gives a January 25, 2023 release date and lists Windows 7 or later among the minimum requirements. Those are listing details, not independent confirmation of current support. Check the live Steam page for present availability and system requirements before installing.
Prepare your expression images
Have at least two PNG images ready, each showing a different avatar expression. The basic setup uses those images as states the app can switch between in response to detected sound. You can add more expression images if you want more variation; the listing does not specify a required image size or file-naming scheme, so use the app’s current import guidance rather than assuming a particular format beyond PNG.

Set up voice response
- Select your microphone. In PngTuber Maker, choose the microphone you intend to use. If you have more than one input device, make sure you have not selected a webcam mic or another unused input by mistake.
- Adjust the sound threshold. Speak at your usual streaming volume and change the threshold until speech triggers the speaking expression without ordinary room noise constantly activating it. There is no universal sensitivity value: microphone gain, distance, room noise, and speaking volume vary.
- Test before broadcasting. Speak, pause, and speak more quietly to check that the avatar switches as expected. If it reacts continuously, raise the threshold or reduce input noise; if it rarely reacts, lower the threshold or check that the chosen microphone is receiving sound.
A working microphone is needed for sound detection. You do not need a particular microphone model based on the product information available.
Customize the avatar and scene
Once the basic expression switching works, the Steam listing also describes backgrounds, avatar accessories, switching animations, virtual-camera output, and desktop-mascot use. These are optional customization features; they are not required to make the avatar respond to your voice.

Use the virtual camera in a streaming setup
PngTuber Maker lists virtual-camera output, which can provide the avatar view to broadcast software. The available instructions do not establish that every current streaming application captures it in the same way, so verify your own setup rather than assuming universal compatibility.
- Enable or start the virtual-camera output in PngTuber Maker, using the current controls shown in the app.
- In your streaming software, add a camera or video-capture source and select the PngTuber Maker virtual camera if it appears in the device list.
- Check the preview for the avatar, expression changes, and framing. If the source is missing or blank, confirm the virtual camera is running and review the capture software’s available video devices.
- Make a private or otherwise suitable test broadcast before relying on the setup for a live show.
Control labels and capture behavior can change between software versions. Consult the current PngTuber Maker and broadcast-software interfaces if the steps above do not match what you see.
