Which plan fits a 24/7 YouTube stream?
Free: personal use and up to 720p without a watermark
Free may suit a personal stream if four scenes are enough and output at or below 720p meets your needs. XSplit lists a watermark above 720p and describes Free as personal-use-only. If the broadcast is monetized or used for a business, do not assume the Free license permits that use.

Premium: commercial use, higher-resolution output, and production tools
Premium is the relevant tier if you need commercial use, output above 720p without a watermark, more than four scenes, or paid-tier tools such as multistreaming, local streaming, audio source, or stream delay. Those production features do not, by themselves, establish that Broadcaster will run unattended continuously.
XSplit’s purchase page says, “Start free, then upgrade when you need Premium features, higher-resolution output, or commercial use.” That is XSplit’s description of its plans, not evidence that every 24/7 YouTube stream needs Premium.

What the license price does not cover
Broadcaster runs on a local Windows computer, so a long-running broadcast also depends on that machine, its power, the network connection, and ongoing operations. XSplit lists Windows 10 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, and 250 MB storage among its requirements. It gives 500 kbps as a minimum for the lowest settings and recommends 5 Mbps upload for HD. These are vendor-published baselines, not a qualification for 24/7 workloads or a guarantee from your internet provider.
No specific uptime guarantee or unattended 24/7 test is established for Broadcaster. Plan for local recording backups, monitoring, and continuity of power and internet rather than treating a paid license as failover.

YouTube limits that affect a 24-hour broadcast
Archives are not guaranteed for a stream longer than 12 hours
YouTube Help says, “If your live stream is less than 12 hours, YouTube can automatically archive it for you.” YouTube also cautions that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a replay, do not rely on one 24-hour broadcast becoming a complete archive; make and verify a local recording backup.
DVR rewind can be limited
YouTube warns that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. A continuous broadcast therefore may not offer viewers the rewind experience they expect.

Monitor the stream and local recording
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends continuously monitoring audio and video quality and checking that local archive recordings are intact. Treat this as an operational responsibility: it does not establish that XSplit provides automatic monitoring or failover.

- Confirm the license and price. Compare Free and Premium against your scene count, resolution, and personal or commercial use. Because XSplit’s official pages disagree on lifetime pricing, verify the amount at checkout.
- Activate YouTube Live in advance. XSplit’s setup guide says the channel must be verified and that first-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- Check the computer and upload connection. Compare your system with XSplit’s published requirements and allow for the sustained workload. Its listed HD upload recommendation is a baseline, not a promise of uninterrupted service.
- Arrange backup and monitoring. Decide how you will watch for audio or video problems, preserve a local recording, and respond to power or connection interruptions.
- Set archive expectations. If a complete replay matters, plan around YouTube’s warning for streams exceeding 12 hours instead of assuming a single 24-hour stream will be archived.
