On mobile, you use the game’s software tools through a touch-oriented interface. Here’s how the case loop works, what is known about controls and progression, and what to check before installing.
What you do in a case
FDI agents contact you for support as they investigate crimes such as murders, missing-person cases, and cyberattacks. Your job is to fact-check their leads, inspect evidence, search records, and report findings that help move the investigation forward. The official Google Play description sums up the task as evaluating evidence, digging into documents, connecting clues, and solving mysteries: Google Play listing.
A useful way to approach each request is to work from the question the agent asks, not from a guess about who is guilty. The following sequence is a practical synthesis of the activities described in the official listing, not a publisher-issued walkthrough; the right tool and solution depend on the case.
- Read the request. Identify exactly what the agent needs confirmed, such as a person’s identity, a vehicle detail, or information visible in supplied media.
- Inspect the evidence and documents. Look for details that answer that specific question before drawing conclusions from the case premise.
- Open the relevant FDI tool. Use the image or video analyzer for media, the citizen or vehicle database for records, ChemScan for evidence queries, the Notepad to track connections, or the Terminal where appropriate.
- Compare what you find. Keep names, dates, and contradictions together in your notes so a single clue is not mistaken for proof.
- Report the best-supported finding. Give the agent what the available evidence establishes, then follow any new lead that emerges.
The game’s in-fiction warning about entering unauthorized areas without notifying superiors is part of its story; it is not real-world investigative advice.

Mobile controls and interface
Bureau 81 announced that the mobile version was “Reworked to fully support a mobile interface” in its Steam community mobile-release announcement, dated October 1, 2026. The Apple and Google Play descriptions tell players to tap through the FDI software tools. That supports describing the interface as touch-oriented: open the relevant tool and examine the evidence there.
The official materials do not document a complete gesture map or control-by-control tutorial. They do not establish specific swipe, drag, long-press, zoom, or keyboard gestures, so don’t assume those are required. Follow the on-screen prompts in your installed version.

Optional controller support
The US Apple App Store listing marks the game as controller-supported and names compatible PlayStation, Xbox, or MFi controllers. A controller is optional; the store description itself emphasizes tapping through the tools. The Apple listing does not establish compatibility for every controller-and-phone combination, and its statement should not be generalized to Android. Check that your particular device and controller pair successfully before relying on one.
Cases and progression
The official listings describe multiple cases, requests from field agents, evidence evaluation, and a story that deepens as you follow leads. They do not provide a dependable total case count, complete case order, save details, unlock requirements, or exact progression triggers. Treat the game as a sequence of investigations and follow the leads presented in your current case; claims about a fixed chapter order or a specific action unlocking a later case are not established by those listings.

Platforms, trial, and purchase
The game is listed for iPhone and iPad on Apple’s US App Store, which specifies iOS 15.0 or later. The Google Play listing is for Android and showed an update date of October 2, 2026 when checked. These are storefront details, not guarantees of identical performance on every device that meets the stated requirements; confirm the live listing for your device and region.
The official listings use a try-before-you-buy model. Google Play marks the game as a free trial with in-app purchases; at the time checked, the US Apple listing offered a full-game upgrade for $7.99.
