A stone’s grade determines which stats can roll; each socketed row then has its own stat and quality result. “Upgrading” usually means obtaining or crafting a higher-grade stone—not improving an already socketed stone in place, which the available current guides do not establish.
What Manastone rarity means in Aion 2
There are two separate things players may call a stone’s rarity. The stone itself has a grade—Lesser, Intermediate, Superior, or an Abyssal variant. Separately, each rolled stat row has a quality tier: Basic, Superior, or Ultimate. A Superior Manastone can therefore produce a Basic-quality row; “Superior” in that result describes the row, not the stone’s grade.
The following pool counts and odds are reported by Xtopolis, an unofficial Aion 2 reference currently crawled in the week before October 3, 2026. NC’s official Aion 2 Probability Information portal lists a Manastone/Soulstone category, but its dynamic table was not readable for direct verification here. Treat the detailed figures below as fan-reference values, not independently verified official rates. Patch, region, and client version can matter.
| Stone grade/type | Possible stats listed by Xtopolis | Row-quality odds listed by Xtopolis |
|---|---|---|
| Lesser | 9 | 70% Basic, 30% Superior, no Ultimate |
| Intermediate | 9 | 50% Basic, 35% Superior, 15% Ultimate |
| Superior | 14 | 50% Basic, 35% Superior, 15% Ultimate |
| Lesser Abyssal | 16 | 50% Basic, 35% Superior, 15% Ultimate |
| Intermediate Abyssal | 16 | 50% Basic, 35% Superior, 15% Ultimate |
| Superior Abyssal | 22 | 50% Basic, 35% Superior, 15% Ultimate |
These are the pool sizes and quality odds shown in the Xtopolis table; they do not mean every stat is equally likely. For a complete current stat list or live probability disclosure, check the in-game tooltip and NC’s official portal for your version.

Which stats can roll?
Xtopolis lists core options such as Attack, Defense, Accuracy Bonus, Evasion Bonus, Critical Hit, Critical Hit Resist, Block, HP, and MP. The eligible options differ by grade and stone type, so the pool count alone does not tell you which stat is available.
Superior non-Abyssal stones
In addition to the listed core options, the Superior pool includes damage-related possibilities such as Damage Boost, Weapon Damage Boost, Critical Damage Boost, Back Attack Damage Boost, and Frontal Attack Damage Boost, according to Xtopolis.

Abyssal stones
Abyssal pools include PvP options such as PvP Attack and PvP Defense. That makes the choice between a normal and Abyssal stone dependent on whether the relevant gear is being built for PvE or PvP, as well as on the exact stat pool shown for that stone.
The detailed pool and value tables are unofficial and may not match every client or patch. Aion 2 Maps’ guide, updated October 2, 2026, also summarizes rolled stone stats, but its terminology and values do not map one-to-one to Xtopolis’s Basic, Superior, and Ultimate labels. Do not combine the guides’ tables as though they were the same scale.

How a Manastone stat roll works
Xtopolis describes each row as two decisions: the game selects a stat from that stone’s pool, then selects the quality for that row. The outcomes in separate rows are independent, so a stat can repeat. A weapon with four rows can receive four separate results from one engraving; there is no guarantee that each row will be a different stat.
For example, Xtopolis lists a Superior Manastone Attack row as +3 Basic, +5 Superior, or +10 Ultimate. Its table gives Attack a 10% stat-selection chance and Basic quality a 50% chance, making the exact Basic Attack result 5% per row in that reference’s model (10% × 50%). This is an illustrative fan-reference calculation, not an NC-confirmed live rate.

Where Manastones and Soulstones go
- Manastones: weapons and armor.
- Soulstones: accessories.
They are distinct item families rather than interchangeable names for the same socket item. Xtopolis says Superior stones can be crafted through Alchemy and lists drops, vendors, and shops among other acquisition routes by grade. Those sources can change with patch or region, so use the current in-game item information rather than assuming every listed route is available in your client.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What “upgrading a Manastone” means
Current guides describe equipment enhancement and Manastone use as separate systems: enhancement raises an item’s base equipment stats, while a Manastone adds a random stat. The DBAion2 guide dated September 24, 2026, makes this distinction; it does not establish that a socketed stone can itself be upgraded in place.

In the sources reviewed, the documented routes are acquiring or crafting stones of different grades and then socketing them. If by “upgrade” you mean turning an already socketed Lesser stone into a Superior one without removing or replacing it, these guides do not confirm that mechanic. Do not assume older Aion or Aion Classic rules—such as socket fasteners or destruction on socket failure—apply to Aion 2 without current Aion 2 confirmation.
Quick Recap
How to choose a stone for your gear
- Match the family to the slot: Manastone for a weapon or armor piece; Soulstone for an accessory.
- Compare the grade and pool: a higher grade may offer a broader or different eligible-stat pool and additional row-quality outcomes, as shown in the Xtopolis table.
- Choose normal or Abyssal for the activity: Abyssal options include PvP stats; Superior non-Abyssal options include the listed damage boosts.
- Consider how long you will keep the gear: Aion 2 Maps reports that socketed stones do not survive gear transfer. Treat that as a current fan-guide warning and avoid committing valuable stones to gear you expect to replace or transfer.
- Check current acquisition routes: crafting, drops, vendors, and shops may differ by grade and can change with updates.
- Decide around your build: the available guides do not establish one universally best stat for every class, activity, and item. Compare the stats you need for your own PvE or PvP setup.
