Open Fortnite’s Locker from the lobby, choose the item category and the skin you bought, then select it and click back to equip it. If it is missing, first check that you are signed into the Epic account that made the purchase; then check the Locker category, filters and Archived items.
Equip a purchased skin from your Locker
- Launch Fortnite and go to the lobby.
- Open Locker.
- Choose the relevant cosmetic category, such as Outfit, and select the skin.
- Click back to leave the selection screen. The selected outfit is equipped.
Epic’s support instructions describe this route without a platform-specific variation. A skin is an Outfit; other cosmetics, such as Back Bling and Pickaxes, are found in their own item categories.
If the skin is missing from your Locker
Work through these checks in order:
- Verify the Epic account. Make sure Fortnite is running on the account that bought the item. If you have more than one account, compare the purchase receipt’s email address with the account you are using. Items remain on the account where they were purchased, earned or claimed; Epic does not manually transfer them between Fortnite accounts.
- Check the category and filters. Open the expected item type, then clear any active Sort or Filter settings and apply the change. A filter can hide items that are otherwise in your Locker.
- Look in Archived. An item you previously archived may not appear with the rest of your cosmetics. Check the Archived filter and unarchive the item if you find it.
- Review purchase history for a recent purchase. Epic’s cosmetic purchase-history view covers only the last 30 days. In Fortnite, go to Profile Icon → Settings gear → Account and Privacy → Return or Cancel Purchase. On the web, start from the Fortnite Item Shop after signing in. This history view is not a complete record of older purchases.
- Consider a removal notice or payment reversal. Epic says an item or V-Bucks may be removed after a refund or payment reversal. A gift sender’s refund or reversal can also affect a gifted item. If the purchase was made through a third-party storefront, such as a console platform, contact that seller or platform for support.
Cancel or return an accidental Item Shop purchase
Epic’s support guidance distinguishes an immediate cancellation from a return using a ticket. The options have different timing and use requirements, and neither guarantees that a specific purchase is eligible.

Epic says accounts start with three Return Tickets, receive one new ticket every 365 days while below the maximum, and can hold up to three. To view the current return options in-game, use Player Icon → Hamburger menu → Support and Refunds → Return or cancel purchase. Eligibility, exclusions and menu labels can change, so check Epic’s current support guidance before acting.
