In Aion 2, Manastones engrave randomized stats into weapon and armor slots; Soulstones are for accessories. The documented Taiwan interface puts engraving under Enhancement > Manastone, but the available Global sources do not confirm that exact menu path, a single-stone removal option, or a removal fee. Plan to use new stones when moving to replacement gear: Global transfer documentation says Manastones do not transfer with the item.
Which equipment uses Manastones?
Manastones are used with slots on weapons and armor. Accessories use Soulstones instead, so check the equipment type before attempting an engraving. The Global Intermediate Manastone (Bound) tooltip says it “Can be engraved on Manastone slots in all weapons and armor to imbue them with stats.” Global launch-scale-test item data describes the stat type and value as chance-based.
How to engrave Manastones
Documented Taiwan interface
- Open the Enhancement window and select the Manastone tab.
- Select eligible weapon or armor gear and provide the Manastones for the engraving attempt.
- Review the result, which is randomized rather than a guaranteed stat choice.
This interface walkthrough is for the Taiwan version. It describes an attempt as rerolling every Manastone slot on the item together, rather than changing only one selected slot, and reports a cost of 2,000 Kinah plus the supplied stones per attempt. The guide cautions that its values have not been verified for other regions; neither the all-slot reroll behavior nor that fee is confirmed here for Global. Taiwan-version walkthrough
Global version
Global item data confirms that Manastones can be engraved on weapon and armor slots and that the resulting stat type and value are determined by chance. It does not establish the exact Global menu path or whether Global uses the Taiwan all-slot reroll procedure. Check the live in-game Enhancement interface for your region before committing stones.

Can you remove or replace a Manastone?
Current Global sources do not establish a command for removing one Manastone, whether a removed stone is returned, or whether removal costs Kinah or another item. Do not rely on older Aion or Aion Classic instructions involving a remover NPC, a “Remove Manastone” menu, fasteners, or Boost/Modify: those steps are not verified for Aion 2. Check the current in-game interface and region-specific patch notes for removal options.
If by “replace” you mean replacing the gear itself, Global transfer guidance says Manastones do not carry to the receiving item. Budget new stones for the replacement. The same guidance also lists Soulstones, Theostones, Potential, and Soul Fuse among the properties that do not transfer. Global transfer guide

When to spend stones on gear
Because Global transfer guidance says Manastones stay behind when gear is transferred to a receiving item, weigh the likely lifespan of a piece before investing in it. A short-term item may not justify scarce stones if you expect to replace it soon. On the Taiwan version, the reported all-slot reroll and per-attempt cost also make repeated attempts an investment; that behavior and fee should not be assumed for Global.
