There is no published numeric “best settings” preset: IO Interactive confirms the mode includes camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects, and poses, but does not document slider values or a recommended recipe. For clearer screenshots, build the frame around a readable subject and use effects sparingly; for a more cinematic image, emphasize depth, atmosphere, and a deliberate pose.
What Photo Mode offers in 007 First Light
IO Interactive’s Update 1.3.0 patch notes describe Photo Mode as a way to choose camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects, and poses, then capture Bond, locations, and action from your own angle. The update is the free Extended Operations DLC and also adds New Game+ and a new “00” difficulty.
The patch notes do not list individual control names, numeric ranges, or platform-specific button mappings. Use the options actually shown in your current game build rather than relying on a slider value or control layout from another version or platform.
A practical starting workflow for sharper screenshots
These are general composition recommendations, not a tested in-game preset. Make one adjustment at a time and judge the result in the framing you plan to share.

- Choose a readable moment. Pause when Bond or another intended subject is visible and not blocked by foreground objects. Decide whether the shot is a character portrait, an environmental view, or an action frame.
- Establish the framing. Move the camera and adjust the available framing controls until the subject is easy to pick out. Try a deliberate angle rather than defaulting to a straight-on view; leave negative space when it helps the scene feel composed.
- Separate subject from background. Look for a background that does not visually compete with the subject. If the available camera controls let you change the view, make small adjustments and check whether the subject becomes clearer.
- Keep effects restrained. Add filters or visual effects only when they support the image. If an effect softens edges, obscures detail, or overwhelms the subject, reduce or remove it.
- Inspect at sharing size. Review the composition at the size where it will be viewed, not only while zoomed in within the mode. A frame that looks crisp up close may become cluttered when reduced.
How to make the image feel more cinematic
- Give the frame a visual purpose. Use a portrait to emphasize expression or costume, an establishing shot to show the setting, or an action frame to make movement the focal point.
- Use depth and atmosphere. Arrange the subject against a background that adds context without stealing attention. Use overlays and filters as accents, then compare the unfiltered version before committing.
- Choose a pose that fits the moment. A purposeful pose can make a character portrait feel intentional; avoid a pose that fights the action or scene you are trying to capture.
- Compare changes one at a time. Try an adjustment, inspect it, and then decide whether to keep it. This makes it easier to see which choice improves the frame instead of letting several effects muddy the result.
Do platform graphics settings change screenshot sharpness?
There is one confirmed rendering distinction, but it is not a Photo Mode preset. In a May 19, 2026 PlayStation Blog post, IO Interactive said upgraded PSSR is enabled by default for 007 First Light on PS5 Pro and described cleaner, more stable reconstruction of fine detail. The post says other platforms use FSR 3.1.5 as the studio’s upscaler outside PS5 Pro.
This describes the game’s upscaling, not Photo Mode export resolution or a guarantee that screenshots will appear sharper on every display. The cited official material does not establish differences in Photo Mode controls or capture output between platforms. Update 1.3.0 is listed for PS5, Steam, Xbox Series, Microsoft PC, and Epic Games Store; the notes identify the game client as version 1.3.0.

What is not established about the settings
Neither the official patch notes nor the cited graphics statement publishes an exact recommended setting for aperture, focus, exposure, focal length, or field of view. They also do not establish that Photo Mode creates a higher-resolution export, pauses every scene, or uses the same controls across platforms. Check the live interface for the specific controls and options available in your build.
