The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is the current PC version, released September 29, 2026. CD PROJEKT RED’s published minimum is Windows 11 64-bit, a Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-8400, a GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB, 12 GB RAM, and a 70 GB SSD. The 2022 Next-Gen Update is an earlier version; its requirements and feature descriptions should not be treated as the current baseline.
Can your PC run The Witcher 3 Remastered?
Compare your computer with the current official minimums below. These are the entry-level requirements, not a promise of a particular frame rate at every resolution or graphics setting.

CD PROJEKT RED says Windows 10 will no longer be officially supported or tested, HDDs are no longer supported, and the game will use DirectX 12 exclusively. Its stated minimum lists 6 GB VRAM, while the named Radeon model is specified as an 8 GB card. Consult the official updated PC requirements and minimum-requirements change notice for details.
Check the whole system, not just the GPU
- Operating system: The published requirement is 64-bit Windows 11. Windows 10 is no longer officially supported or tested.
- Storage: The requirement is a 70 GB SSD; HDDs are no longer supported. Make sure the drive has enough free space and is compatible with your PC.
- Processor, memory, and graphics: Compare your exact CPU, GPU, VRAM, and RAM with the table. Meeting one component’s minimum does not establish that the rest of the system meets it.
What performance should you expect?
CD PROJEKT RED’s current support page separates performance into Recommended, Ultra, RT Minimum, RT Recommended, and Path Tracing tiers. Its numerical component and FPS rows are presented in an embedded table image and are not reproduced here; consult the original table rather than relying on an unverified parts list or target.

The company says the listed FPS targets are based on its QA tests, that frame-rate fluctuations may occur depending on the scene and gameplay, and that output resolution can significantly affect performance. Treat those targets as test-based guidance, not a guarantee for every PC or moment of play.
Ray tracing and Path Tracing change the comparison
The RT tiers use upscaling set to Auto in the stated configurations. The Path Tracing measurement also uses Frame Generation. A performance figure for one of these modes is therefore meaningful only alongside its resolution and image-generation settings; it should not be read as a native-rendering result or as a result available on every GPU.

When judging a configuration, identify the output resolution, graphics preset, standard rendering or ray-tracing mode, and whether upscaling or Frame Generation is enabled. The minimum requirements alone do not establish performance at Ultra, with ray tracing, or with Path Tracing.
What changed from the 2022 Next-Gen Update?
The name “Next-Gen Update” refers to the 2022 version 4.0 update, not the current Remastered release. Version 4.0 brought ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion, optional ray-traced reflections and shadows on compatible PC hardware, Ultra+ settings, and DLSS 3. Those details are useful for understanding older guides, but they do not describe the full current feature set.

CD PROJEKT RED released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered on September 29, 2026. The launch announcement says it is available and includes Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine; the company also announced a free upgrade for existing owners within the same platform ecosystem. Which graphics features depend on your hardware?
The Remastered notes list native DirectX 12 rendering with multithreading, Path Tracing, DLSS 4.5 with Ray Reconstruction, FSR 4, XeSS 2.0, and Ray-Traced HairWorks. Feature names do not mean every option is supported on every graphics card. The notes specify that FSR 4 supports Radeon RX 7000 series and newer; unsupported GPUs use FSR 2.

For GPU-specific performance or compatibility, use the official tier table and the game’s settings on your own system. Do not infer one card’s frame rate from another model or from the minimum list.

The game has multiple PC versions. Some platforms allow players to revert to earlier versions, including 1.32 Classic and 4.04, according to the current support article. Check the installed build before comparing a guide’s requirements or features with your own game. The 2020 announcement introduced the then-upcoming next-generation release, while the December 2022 version 4.0 notes describe that update’s changes.
