Does Masters of Albion support controllers?
PC Gamer reported on May 5, 2026, that developer 22cans had added trackpad and full Steam Input support, and that the reviewer’s Steam Deck controls worked. The same report describes the game as mouse-reliant; the reviewer said they would not want to play without the trackpads. That supports saying Steam Input can be configured for controller-style input, not that the game offers universal, plug-and-play controller support. PC Gamer’s report
What about an Xbox controller?
The cited sources do not establish whether a particular Xbox controller—or any other named external gamepad—works, or whether its controls and prompts are supported without configuration. Steam Input support is encouraging, but it is not model-by-model verification.
Can you play Masters of Albion on Steam Deck?
Steam’s current store listing labels Masters of Albion Unsupported for Steam Deck. That is the official compatibility badge, not proof that the game cannot launch. In the May 5, 2026 report, 22cans described the game as playable and said it did not meet Valve’s performance thresholds for an official compatibility badge. The developer also said performance optimization remained an ongoing focus. These are distinct claims: a game may run for some players without meeting Valve’s criteria for a favorable badge.

Valve’s compatibility review considers, among other things, whether Deck controls provide access to the game’s content, whether the default configuration is usable, whether on-screen input prompts match the Deck controls, and whether the game meets performance expectations. What performance has been reported?
PC Gamer’s reviewer reported that shortly after launch, the game hovered around 30 fps at the lowest settings, with occasional drops into the mid-20s or high teens. This is one reviewer’s launch-period observation, not a current measurement, independently replicated benchmark, or performance guarantee for every Deck.

Is Masters of Albion multiplayer?
Steam lists the game’s feature as Single-player. Its store description covers town-building, exploration, and defense, but does not list co-op, online multiplayer, or local multiplayer.
