For 1080p at 60 fps, The Coalition lists a minimum tier with 12 GB RAM, a 6 GB ray-tracing-capable GPU and a 115 GB SSD. Its recommended tier targets 1440p at 60+ fps, while Ultra targets 4K at 60+ fps; both call for 16 GB RAM and stronger hardware. These are launch-spec targets that use DLSS, FSR, TSR or XeSS, not guaranteed results on every PC. The game requires hardware ray tracing. The final specifications were announced September 17, 2026, ahead of the scheduled October 6 launch. PC Gamer reproduced the requirements table; Xbox Wire confirmed the final specs.
Gears of War: E-Day PC requirements at a glance
Choose the tier by the resolution and frame-rate target you want, then compare your CPU, GPU, memory and free SSD space with its examples. The named processors and graphics cards are examples, not a guarantee that every similarly named or older component will perform identically.

How to tell whether your PC can run E-Day
1. Start with your resolution and frame-rate goal
Use the minimum tier as the published reference for Medium settings at 1080p/60 fps. If you want High settings at 1440p/60+ fps, compare against Recommended; for Ultra settings at 4K/60+ fps, use Ultra. You do not need Ultra hardware simply because it is the highest tier.

2. Check the graphics card’s ray-tracing capability
A hardware ray-tracing-capable graphics card is required, so a card without dedicated hardware ray tracing does not meet the stated requirement. After confirming that capability, compare the card model and its VRAM with your chosen tier. The listed minimum examples include the RTX 2060 and Radeon RX 6600; the Recommended examples include the RTX 3060 Ti and RX 6700 XT. A card with enough VRAM but without the required ray-tracing hardware is not a substitute.
3. Compare the processor and system memory
Check both: the minimum tier lists 12 GB of system RAM, while Recommended and Ultra list 16 GB. The processor examples also become newer and stronger across the tiers. Independent CPU testing by Tom’s Hardware covered 25 processors and found high CPU utilization and performance scaling across the tested processors; those results reflect that outlet’s test conditions, not every PC configuration. 4. Confirm free SSD capacity
All three tiers specify 115 GB on an SSD. Check that much free space on an appropriate SSD before installing. If you are considering a capacity upgrade, first verify that your PC supports the drive’s interface and physical form factor.
What the upscaling requirement means
Each published target lists DLSS, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR or Intel XeSS as an upscaling option. Xbox also describes support for DLSS 4.5, including Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, as well as NVIDIA Reflex and Advanced Shader Delivery on compatible systems. Why beta requirements are not the launch requirements
The final PC specifications supersede the multiplayer open beta chart. The Coalition said the final specs followed continued PC stability and performance work after the July 2026 beta, and the official beta FAQ explicitly warned that beta specifications were not launch specifications. Tom’s Guide reported testing with a Ryzen 7 9700X, RTX 5070 and 32 GB RAM. In that publication’s setup, it observed about 50 fps at 4K High without its DLSS options enabled, and about 115 fps after enabling DLSS 4.5 dynamic frame generation/upscaling and raising several ray-tracing settings to Ultra. That is one outlet’s result on a specific configuration, not a promise for another RTX 5070 system or a replacement for the official tier targets. Tom’s Guide PC performance test.

Tom’s Hardware also reported that its Low Core Mode reduced performance on its pool of modern desktop CPUs. The outlet noted possible usefulness in dual-core conditions, but did not test mobile chips or handhelds; its findings are not a universal setting recommendation.
