Overwatch and Paladins are better fits if what you want most is a roster of distinct characters and coordinated team fights, rather than lanes, minions, and MOBA objectives.
Deadlock itself remains in development. Valve’s Steam community described it as an early-development game in a September 29, 2026 update, while its Steam store page said it was not yet available there. Access and features can change, so check the current listing before making plans.

These are alternatives for different parts of Deadlock’s appeal, not interchangeable clones. If lanes and MOBA pacing are essential, choose SMITE 2 first. If the appeal is primarily character abilities, roles, and team coordination, Overwatch or Paladins may be a better fit.
Why SMITE 2 is the closest match
SMITE 2 is explicitly described on its Steam page as a third-person action MOBA. That combination makes it the strongest documented choice for players looking for aiming and action from an over-the-shoulder perspective alongside familiar MOBA objectives.

Conquest for lanes and objectives
Conquest is a five-versus-five mode built around lanes, minions, team coordination, and pushing toward an enemy Titan. Gods have distinct abilities, giving matches a character-driven layer on top of the map and objective strategy. Choose Conquest if you want the closest match here to Deadlock’s mix of individual fighting and team progress across a structured battlefield.
Arena for more immediate team fights
Arena offers a more direct team-fight format than Conquest. It is the more suitable starting point if you want to learn the game’s characters and combat without making lane-based play your first priority.

What to check before installing
The Steam listing describes SMITE 2 as free to play and says it supports cross-play and cross-progression. Check the live store listing for current availability and platform details, since access and support can change.
Overwatch: choose it for hero roles and team battles
Overwatch’s Steam page describes a free-to-play, team-based action game with 5v5 or 6v6 battles and cross-platform multiplayer. Its appeal as a Deadlock alternative is the roster of distinct heroes and the coordination involved in team combat.

It is an adjacent hero-shooter choice, not the closest mechanical match. The cited description does not establish Deadlock-style lanes, minions, or MOBA economy systems. Choose Overwatch if your priority is team composition and character-based fights rather than advancing through a lane-based map.
Paladins: choose it for champion customization and objectives
Paladins’ Steam page describes a fantasy first-person team shooter with teams of five and modes that include payload and rotating objectives. It highlights more than 50 champions, role archetypes, ability customization, and in-game itemization.

Those systems give you ways to shape a champion’s role and match build while coordinating around objectives. Paladins differs from Deadlock in its first-person shooter framing and does not offer the same documented third-person, lane-based MOBA combination as SMITE 2. Pick it if character customization and objective-focused team play matter more to you than matching Deadlock’s camera and map structure.
