How mission replay works
Bandai Namco’s official campaign system overview describes a campaign sequence that includes story scenes, a briefing, aircraft selection, the mission, a replay segment, and debriefing. That replay segment is part of the campaign flow; it is distinct from selecting an earlier sortie to play again.
For replaying individual missions, current guides from KeenGamer and PowerPyx report that Free Mission unlocks after your first campaign clear. The guides describe it as a way to replay individual missions, including for missed objectives, medals, or a better rank. Bandai Namco’s official pages reviewed here do not state this unlock condition or show exact menu navigation, so use the in-game menu after clearing the campaign rather than relying on a button-by-button path.

Before launch, use the briefing to identify the sortie’s task and check the on-screen objective requirements during play. Bandai Namco’s official walkthrough offers general preparation advice, not a complete mission-by-mission list of objectives or solutions. The game’s current briefing and objective display are therefore the place to confirm what a particular sortie requires.

Match your aircraft and weapons to the task
Bandai Namco recommends choosing an aircraft and special weapon with the mission objective and your playstyle in mind. The official materials describe varied sortie roles, including air-to-air combat, ground support, naval strikes, and battles against superweapons. An aircraft or weapon suited to one target type may not be the best fit for another, so check the briefing before choosing your loadout.
You can also use available upgrade parts to tailor aircraft. The official walkthrough says additional aircraft can be unlocked using MRP earned in missions; it does not provide a universal best aircraft or loadout for every objective.

What to do after missing an objective or rank
After the campaign clear, use Free Mission to return to an individual sortie and work on a missed goal or try for a stronger result, as described by the current guides. Keep the replay goal specific—such as learning the encounter, completing a missed objective, or improving rank—and check the mission’s displayed requirements before launching. The sources reviewed do not establish that every objective can be repeated or that replay removes every mission restriction.
