Which PC requirements should you use?
Use the final launch requirements reported October 1, 2026, not the earlier beta recommendations. The Coalition published final specifications on September 17; PC Gamer transcribed the complete table, which was embedded as an image in the official Xbox Wire post. The performance figures below are targets using an upscaling option—DLSS, FSR, TSR, or XeSS—not guaranteed frame rates for every PC or scene. Every tier has the same support condition: the graphics card must support hardware ray tracing. A card without dedicated hardware ray tracing is unsupported, even if its raw performance looks adequate in an older benchmark. These are example components for each tier, not a guarantee that every configuration built around them will hit its target.
How to decide whether your PC needs an upgrade
- Choose your goal. Decide whether you want the minimum 1080p Medium target, recommended 1440p High target, or Ultra 4K target. Compare your PC with that column rather than upgrading toward the highest tier by default.
- Confirm hardware ray tracing. Check the exact GPU model and its hardware capabilities. This is a support requirement, not a performance tweak; upscaling does not remove it.
- Compare your GPU and VRAM. If your card is below the examples for your chosen tier, a GPU upgrade may be the relevant change. Before buying, check power-supply capacity, case clearance, CPU balance, and budget. The game lists DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, and Intel XeSS, but supported options and their image-quality or performance effects vary by hardware and settings. - Check CPU and RAM separately. The reported minimum lists 12 GB RAM; Recommended and Ultra list 16 GB. CPU examples also vary by tier. If your system meets the target you intend to play at and performs acceptably, the table alone is not a reason to replace a CPU or memory kit.
- Check free SSD capacity. The final tiers specify 115 GB on an SSD. If you cannot make enough room, additional suitable SSD capacity may be needed. The requirement does not specify NVMe versus SATA or an internal versus external drive; verify your PC’s supported interface, bay or slot, and available capacity before choosing one.
What PC features and platform details matter?
The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 and DirectX 12. The PC feature set includes hardware ray tracing and support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR, Intel XeSS, NVIDIA Reflex, and Advanced Shader Delivery on compatible systems. Advanced Shader Delivery precompiles shaders for compatible systems and may reduce loading times and first-run shader stutter; Xbox Wire gives no numeric reduction. Xbox lists Windows 10/11 and Xbox Series X|S, a global release date of October 6, 2026, PC Game Pass availability at launch, and Steam as a platform/storefront. Xbox Play Anywhere supports shared progression and achievements between Xbox Series X|S and PC. The Xbox page describes online co-op for up to four players; two-player split-screen is console-only. The earlier PC specifications were labeled beta recommendations, with final requirements to be published later. The beta FAQ advised installing to an SSD and warned that HDD use could lead to loading issues, missing assets, stuttering, and crashes. Independent testing is useful for understanding behavior, but it does not replace the requirements table. Tom’s Hardware tested 25 CPUs in its review setup and reported high CPU utilization. It found that Low Core Mode reduced performance across its tested CPU pool, with distinct behavior in a two-core configuration.
