What does Capcom track?
Capcom’s Resident Evil.net portal presents Resident Evil Requiem progress, statistics, information, and records. Its global statistics page names a metric called “First Playthrough Completion Time (World Wide Average).” The metric’s description says the average includes restarts, cutscenes, and pauses.
The page’s live numeric result could not be verified, and the available information does not establish the population behind the average. So there is no supported figure to report here—and a worldwide average would not, by itself, identify a record-setting player.
What is the sub-four-hour challenge?
A third-party 100% collectible guide documents the in-game “Speed Demon” challenge: complete the campaign in under four hours and choose Release. That is a game challenge with stated conditions, not proof of an externally adjudicated speedrun record.

In-game challenges reward progress through defined objectives. A separate guide explains that Challenge Points (CP) can be earned for tasks including difficulty clears, kill milestones, time limits, Mr. Raccoon figures, and hidden files. Why these completion times are not interchangeable
- Capcom’s first-playthrough average: a worldwide average metric that includes pauses, cutscenes, and restarts. Its current value and population were not verifiable.
- “Speed Demon”: an in-game challenge requiring a campaign finish under four hours and the Release choice, according to the guide.
- An external speedrun record: a fastest completion claim that needs a named record-holder, time, date, and rules verified by a primary leaderboard or record authority. No such verification is established here.
Because the measures use different definitions and rules, the challenge threshold cannot be compared directly with Capcom’s average as if both were timed under the same conditions.

Has Resident Evil Requiem set a completion record?
That claim remains unverified. Capcom’s portal confirms that the game has statistics and records features, but the available metric does not provide a verified record time or player ranking. The 100% guide documents completion objectives and the “Speed Demon” threshold; it is not a record authority. Until a primary leaderboard or record source verifies a specific run, no record-holder, fastest time, or ranking should be stated as fact.
