Build your Monk around the attacks you have actually unlocked, then judge it by a full farming run—not a short burst of damage. The available guide-reported progression spans levels 1–50, but Monk skills and recommendations can change between patches. Check the current in-game skill descriptions before committing to a route.
What makes the Monk a good fit?
The unofficial Deskrawl Wiki describes the Monk as a Dexterity-based martial class with skills that unlock progressively. That makes an unlock-aware build more useful than copying a late-game setup while leveling: choose a workable attack path now, then reconsider it when a new basic attack, strong attack, or special becomes available.
Skill and build advice is patch-sensitive. An October 2, 2026 class comparison discusses changes after version 1.0.0h, including a Chain Force rework and improved strong-attack behavior, and cautions against relying on launch-era class rankings (Deskrawl Wiki class guide). The Steam listing gives September 28, 2026 as the game’s release date (Steam listing).
Monk skill unlocks by level
The following table reproduces the unofficial Deskrawl Wiki’s reported unlock levels, updated September 30, 2026. It is a reference, not independently verified official documentation; check the skill panel in your current game version before planning around an exact level.

At each unlock, compare the new skill with the role it would replace. For example, a new basic attack matters most if your setup is built around basic attacks; a newly available special may instead change how you manage mana or round out your rotation. The table identifies unlock timing, not a universal upgrade ranking.
Choose an attack path that matches your level
Basic-attack route
Threefold Strike is the listed level-1 basic attack. At level 15, the guide lists Furious Fist, the centerpiece of one documented basic-attack direction called Hundred Hands. At level 30, compare Seismic Strike; at level 45, compare Chi Bolt. Do not assume a later unlock is automatically better for every setup—check its current in-game behavior and how it fits your gear and other skills.

Strong-attack route
Sacred Judgment is the first listed strong attack, at level 5. Piercing Lunge follows at 20, Whirlwind Staff at 35, and Golden Palms at 50. A strong-attack setup should be evaluated on its complete rotation, including any changes to attack behavior in the current patch, rather than on an old class ranking.
Specials and the full rotation
The listed specials arrive at levels 10, 15, 25, 30, 40, and 45. Their presence does not by itself establish which attack path is strongest. Test the actual combination you use—including its mana needs and interruptions—instead of evaluating one skill in isolation.

How to build around Hundred Hands
The Hundred Hands guide presents a fast basic-attack route built around Furious Fist. Its stated supporting pieces are Dodge Chance, attack speed, Zephyr’s Flow for mana after dodges, Mirror Steps for physical damage after dodging, and the Hundred Hands set (Deskrawl Wiki Hundred Hands guide). This is a guide-authored build direction, not an independently tested ranking or proof that it is the best Monk build.
The same guide cautions that Dodge does not make the character immune to damage: ground poison and lingering area effects can still hurt. Account for health, resistance, movement, and skill choice as well as Dodge. If dodging sustains your mana or adds damage, the build still needs enough survivability to keep attacking through hazards.

Choose talents and rune sets without overcommitting
Invest toward useful unlocks
The Hundred Hands guide advises investing toward the next useful unlock rather than maxing every attractive early stat. It also says talent resets cost gold and become increasingly expensive. Because the available guidance does not provide a universal point-by-point allocation for every patch, gear state, and character, keep investments coherent and avoid repeated full resets unless a meaningful change justifies the cost.
Compare rune-set directions with your equipped attacks
The Monk class guide names three rune-set directions: Hundred Hands, Wheel of Nine Heavens, and Serpent’s Tongue. It does not establish that one is universally superior, and individual set bonuses should be checked in the current game rather than inferred from the names. Read each set’s thresholds alongside the attacks you have equipped, then test the full rotation and mana use before giving up a setup that is keeping you alive (Deskrawl Wiki class guide).

How to tell whether your Monk farms reliably
Compare complete runs in similar zones and over similar lengths. A short damage burst can hide deaths, downtime, mana problems, or repeated trips back to town. These checks are a practical way to evaluate your own character, not published controlled performance results.
- Attack path: Note whether the run relies on basic attacks, strong attacks, or specials, and whether the key skills are currently unlocked.
- Survival and uptime: Watch Dodge, health, resistance, movement, and mana continuity. Count deaths, interruptions, and town returns.
- Whole-run farming: Compare rewards and time spent interrupted across similar zones and run lengths, not just peak damage against a target.
Check patch changes before relying on old numbers
A Steam result for Patch 1.0.0i reports several Monk changes: Threefold Strike rose from 85% to 100% weapon damage; Seismic Strike’s third-hit shockwave rose from 100% to 120%, with its per-level scaling also increased; Furious Fist rose from 75% to 80%, with per-level scaling increased; Chi Bolt rose from 85% to 90%, and the third bolt’s healing per level increased; Sacred Orbs’ radius increased by about 10%; and an early-cast or missed-enemy issue with Divine Thunder was fixed (First Day Games’ Steam announcements).
The surfaced announcement feed does not securely establish the announcement date, and these values may have been superseded. Treat them as reported Patch 1.0.0i changes, not guaranteed current values. Confirm the version and skill descriptions in your game before using the percentages to make a build decision.
