This describes compatibility, not a measured frame rate or a promise that every setup will be free of issues. Check your region’s Nintendo listing for its current details.
Why are my controls not working in FUR Squadron Phoenix on Switch 2?
First determine whether the issue is limited to the game. Test the controller in the HOME Menu, then in another compatible game, and use Nintendo’s built-in input test. If input fails across menus or multiple games, focus on controller settings, connection, or hardware. If system tests and other games work but FUR Squadron Phoenix does not, it may be a title-specific issue; that pattern does not identify its cause by itself.
Check for custom button mapping
On the HOME Menu, look for a wrench icon beside the active controller. Nintendo uses that icon to indicate custom button mapping. Restore the standard mapping while diagnosing the problem, and check the game’s own control settings without assuming it has a particular undocumented option.

Update the console and controller
- Open System Settings and install the latest available system update.
- Open the controller settings and run the controller update function for powered-on controllers.
- Confirm the controller is charged and paired. For a Pro Controller, Nintendo documents pairing through Controllers → Change Grip and Order, using the SYNC button. To reset it, press SYNC once, then press another button to wake it.
Menu wording can change with system software, so follow the current Nintendo Support instructions if the labels differ.
Test the controller’s inputs
For a Pro Controller, use System Settings → Controllers and Sensors → Test Input Devices → Test Controller Buttons. Check that the buttons and sticks you need register correctly. If the Pro Controller fails this test, Nintendo says it can inspect and service it.

For Joy-Con 2 stick trouble, check calibration and input using Nintendo’s Joy-Con 2 troubleshooting steps. Confirm the controllers register as attached, make sure inputs have not been remapped, and remove any skins or covers from the controller and sticks. If the stick remains inaccurate after the supported checks, Nintendo says the controller may need service; in the described situations, the controller—not the console—is the unit to send.
Why does my Switch 2 controller work in the menu but not in the game?
If the controller works in system menus but not in FUR Squadron Phoenix, restore standard button mapping, check relevant in-game control settings, and compare with another compatible game. Then check whether an update for the game is available. If you contact Nintendo or the game’s publisher, note the game version, Switch 2 system version, controller type, whether you were playing handheld or docked, and the exact input that failed. Use the game’s official site or publisher contact details only after confirming the current contact route; a game-specific bug-report channel or fix has not been established here.
How do I check whether my Joy-Con 2 stick is drifting or miscalibrated?
Use Nintendo’s Joy-Con 2 calibration and input troubleshooting guidance, and check whether the stick registers accurately in the console’s input settings. Verify that the controller is attached as expected, remove stick covers or controller skins, and ensure custom mapping is not confusing the result. What if the Pro Controller only fails wirelessly?
Test close to the console and reduce nearby wireless interference. Nintendo advises against placing the console behind a television, beneath metal, or within three to four feet of other wireless devices such as wireless speakers or cordless phones. If the controller works wired or nearby but not at your usual distance, that difference is useful diagnostic evidence, not a guaranteed fix.
