Published September 22, 2025, the PCWorld page is explicitly marked “Sponsored by G2A.com” and “Sponsored.” It is brand content promoting G2A.COM, not an independent review or safety audit. Its claims about savings, trust, security, seller verification and marketplace scale should be understood in that commercial context.
The article frames the reader’s question as: “But it seems almost too good to be true, so is G2A.COM safe to use?” Its promotional description does not independently answer that question for every transaction. No named spokesperson or role-bearing speaker is quoted in the article.
How the article describes G2A.COM
The sponsored article calls G2A.COM a marketplace where buyers and sellers trade digital items, rather than an online shop that directly sells every item. It says the platform provides infrastructure and payment processing. The listed categories include game keys, gift cards, subscriptions, software licences, e-learning and other digital goods.
That marketplace model means a buyer should assess the individual offer, not just the platform name. The article’s general claims about seller checks and cyber defenses are G2A’s promotional representations; the source does not establish the outcome or risk of a particular purchase.
What the scale figures do—and do not—tell you
The 2025 sponsored article states that G2A.COM has more than 90,000 digital offerings, 35 million users in 180 countries, and more than 400 global and local payment methods. These are figures presented in G2A-sponsored copy, not independently verified measurements in the material available here. Marketplace size or payment choice alone does not establish that a particular key is valid, region-compatible or a better deal.
How to assess a game-key listing before paying
- Match the product exactly. Check the game title, edition, included content and platform. A key for one edition or platform may not match the version you intend to use.
- Confirm activation and region. Read the listing’s activation-store and region restrictions, then compare them with your account and location. Do not assume a key works worldwide.
- Review who is selling it. Check the seller identity and rating shown on the listing. The sponsored article’s general description of seller screening is not a substitute for evaluating an individual seller.
- Compare the final total. Compare the same game and edition at the relevant official store and other sellers. Include checkout fees and taxes where shown; an advertised price is not enough to establish the lowest final price.
- Understand the remedy before checkout. Check the listing’s refund route and the applicable customer-support terms, so you know whom to contact if the key fails or does not match the description.
What the sponsored article cannot establish about safety or savings
The supplied PCWorld page does not provide a fair, like-for-like comparison with other key sellers, independently demonstrate that G2A is safe in every transaction, or prove that its listed prices beat alternatives. Its discussion of security and seller verification remains promotional. A useful purchase decision depends on the specific game, edition, activation platform, region, seller, final checkout total and remedy terms—not on a broad safety or “unbeatable deals” claim alone.
G2A Goldmine is a separate referral program
G2A’s official Goldmine page describes a referral program for links to marketplace digital items and G2A Plus memberships. As of October 4, 2026, G2A states that digital-item referrals can earn up to 5%, depending on category; referrals for a one-month G2A Plus membership are stated at €1, and for a twelve-month membership at €2. The page also states a 24-hour referral cookie, refreshed if the person revisits the reflink. These are mutable program terms, not guaranteed earnings. G2A says reflinks cannot be promoted in web browsers, so check the current placement rules and terms before using the program.
