Start by identifying whether ARC Raiders is crashing, stuttering, or failing to connect: the fixes are different. For PC crashes, follow Embark’s current crash guide and match any error-code fix exactly; for matchmaking trouble, check the server setting and device clock. If the game only stutters, Embark’s published guidance does not identify a specific graphics setting as a fix.
First, identify what is failing
- Crash or launch failure: On PC, use the crash checks below and consult Embark’s Troubleshooting Game Crash & Launch Issues – PC. Its instructions are PC-specific.
- Connection or matchmaking failure: Check the in-game server choice and sync your device clock. Embark’s connection guide is labeled for PC, but its server-setting path is described for PC and consoles; clock instructions cover PC, PS5, and Xbox.
- Stuttering without a crash or disconnect: The official sources cited here do not give a stuttering-specific settings procedure. Avoid assuming that lowering a particular setting, rolling back a driver, or the engine upgrade will resolve it.
- Keyboard stops responding: This is distinct from a crash or stutter. The September 2026 update offered steps for a reported Epic-player keyboard-input issue.
When the symptom is not covered by the steps below, record your platform, PC hardware if applicable, when the problem occurs, and any recent game, operating-system, or driver changes before contacting support.
Fix PC crashes and launch failures
Embark’s PC crash guide, last updated September 30, 2026, covers general checks and specific error codes. Work from the general checks first; use file deletion or reinstall instructions only when the matching code appears.
Check requirements, Raider Voice, and updates
- Compare your PC with Embark’s published PC system requirements. The tiers and their stated targets are listed below; they are targets, not a guarantee for every scene or configuration.
- If Raider Voice (Beta) is enabled and the crash happens in the main menu or while loading, try disabling it.
- Check for current drivers for your graphics card, processor, motherboard/BIOS, monitor, network adapter or modem, and peripherals. Embark identifies outdated or incompatible drivers—especially graphics drivers—as common crash causes.
- Update DirectX and Windows, then restart the PC after updates.
Verify Steam game files and check overlays
For a Steam installation, open Library → ARC Raiders → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. Embark says corrupted or missing files can cause crashes. If the problem continues, try disabling overlays and other third-party software that may interact with the game.

Apply only the matching error-code fix
- EAC error 30005: Embark says Easy Anti-Cheat may be unable to start, sometimes because another program such as antivirus software has locked an EAC file. Try rebooting first. If the error persists, Embark lists adding an antivirus exclusion for
Program Files (x86)EasyAntiCheat_EOS; changing antivirus exclusions reduces scanning protection for that location. - EAC maximum simultaneous instances: Open Task Manager and look for a lingering ARC Raiders process. If none is visible, Embark says a full reboot may be necessary.
- ARAV8007 system integrity violation: Embark says deleting and reinstalling the ARC Raiders game folder can help. This removes the local game installation and requires reinstalling it; use this destructive step only for this named error and follow the official guide.
- Exit Code 0 or 0x1: Embark says these can occur when the game is set to run as administrator. Turn off that compatibility setting.
- Exit Code 0x3: Embark attributes this usually to a damaged
Cerebro.dll. Its instruction is to delete that file and then verify the game files in Steam. Do not delete it for unrelated crashes.

Fix connection and matchmaking problems
Embark’s connection troubleshooting guide was last updated February 27, 2026. It recommends a stable connection, Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi where practical, avoiding VPNs or proxies where possible, and checking the selected matchmaking server.

Check the game’s server and your connection
- In ARC Raiders, open Gameplay → Server and set it to Automatic. Embark describes this setting path for PC and consoles.
- If possible, connect by wired Ethernet rather than Wi-Fi. If you must use Wi-Fi, check that the device is on the intended network and that the connection is stable.
- Temporarily avoid a VPN or proxy if you are using one, unless it is necessary for your connection.
Sync the device clock
Embark says clock synchronization may help with matchmaking or connection problems, and also notes it may help when only standard maps can be joined. Follow the instructions for your platform in its Syncing Your Device Clock article, last updated February 26, 2026:
- PC: Open Settings → Time & Language → Date & Time, enable automatic time, and synchronize as available.
- PS5: Open Settings → System → Date and Time and use the internet-based time setting.
- Xbox: Open Settings → System → Time and use the automatic time option where available.
After syncing, fully restart the device and relaunch the game.

Windows network checks
For persistent PC connection trouble, Embark’s guide proposes these additional Windows steps. They are troubleshooting options, not guaranteed fixes:
- Run the built-in Windows Network troubleshooter.
- Try a public DNS server.
- In Command Prompt, run
ipconfig /release, thenipconfig /renew, thenipconfig /flushdns; restart the PC afterward. - If Windows 10 peer-to-peer update downloads are consuming bandwidth, turn off that update-sharing option.
- Clear the game launcher’s cache if the problem persists.
What to do about stuttering
Embark’s reviewed support materials do not prescribe a current, stuttering-specific sequence of graphics settings. The published PC figures can help you compare your hardware tier with the developer’s intended targets, but they are not benchmark results or promises about frame rate in every situation.

If stuttering persists, capture your platform and PC hardware, when it happens (for example, during a particular activity or after loading), and recent game, OS, or driver changes. That information helps distinguish a local performance symptom from a crash or connection failure without presuming a cause.

Live Update 1.45.0, published September 8, 2026, reported that Embark fixed a PS5 crash that could occur shortly after starting a session and a crash triggered by rapidly pressing certain keys. The update also said ARC Raiders moved from Unreal Engine 5.3 to 5.7; that version change is not evidence that the upgrade fixes stuttering on a particular system.

The same update reported stability improvements targeting Xbox Series S crashes and said Embark was aware of PC crashes related to Windows Update KB5121003. Its linked workaround was not available in the update details cited here, so no specific workaround can be recommended from that note. These are status reports dated September 8, 2026, not confirmation that the issues remain open or fixed now; check later official notes for current status.
For Epic players experiencing sudden keyboard-input loss, that update suggested disabling active overlays and trying to alt-tab out of the game and back in. This addresses the reported keyboard-input symptom, not general stuttering.
When to escalate a persistent problem
If the applicable checks do not help, send support details that make the failure reproducible: platform, store or launcher, exact error text or code, what was happening when it occurred, and recent game, Windows, or driver changes. For PC performance complaints, include hardware details; for matchmaking trouble, note the selected server setting and whether clock synchronization was tried. Avoid applying a destructive file or reinstall step unless the exact error matches Embark’s instruction.
