Neither headset is proven to deliver better spatial audio overall. Logitech lists Dolby Atmos support for the Astro A50 X on Xbox and PC, plus PS5 3D Audio support. SteelSeries lists 360° Spatial Audio and Tempest 3D Audio compatibility for the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. Those are feature claims, not results from a controlled head-to-head listening test. The better fit depends first on your platform, the exact headset version and how you connect your systems.
First, identify which Astro A50 you mean
“Astro A50” can refer to different generations, and their specifications should not be mixed. The newer Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED is the model with PLAYSYNC and HDMI 2.1 console connections. Logitech’s separate Astro A50 Gen 4 page describes an older Wireless + Base Station headset with different platform editions.
The spatial-audio and connection comparison below concerns the A50 X. If you are considering Gen 4, do not assume it has the A50 X’s PLAYSYNC or HDMI features.

Support for a format or feature does not by itself establish how accurately a headset places footsteps, gunfire or other sounds, or how convincing its surround effect will seem to an individual player. The manufacturer product pages do not provide a controlled comparison between these two headsets.

Which one fits your gaming setup?
Choose around the A50 X if you switch among Xbox, PS5 and PC/Mac
Logitech describes PLAYSYNC as a way to connect Xbox, PS5 and PC/Mac at once and switch among them. Its product page describes HDMI 2.1 connections for consoles and USB-C for PC/Mac. This can make the A50 X a more natural match if your priority is moving between several of those systems from one headset and base station. Choose the Nova Pro Wireless around its platform edition and audio extras
SteelSeries sells separate Xbox and PC/PlayStation versions. Its cited PC/PlayStation product page lists PC, PS5/PS4, handheld/Switch, Bluetooth mobile and Mac compatibility. Multi-System Connect is described as supporting two systems at once, while PC Sonar offers software audio customization, including parametric equalization. Verify the connection ports and console requirements for the edition you intend to buy; do not assume the PC/PlayStation version’s compatibility details apply to the Xbox version. Logitech G’s A50 Gen 4 page describes Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos, a battery claim of 15+ hours, and separate Xbox/PC and PlayStation/PC editions. How to make the decision
- Match the headset to your main platform. For A50 X, compare Logitech’s Xbox, PS5 and PC/Mac connection descriptions with your setup. For Nova Pro Wireless, start with the correct Xbox or PC/PlayStation edition and verify its requirements.
- Decide whether switching systems is central. A50 X’s PLAYSYNC is described for Xbox, PS5 and PC/Mac; Nova Pro Wireless’s Multi-System Connect is described for two systems. Check which devices you actually need connected.
- Weigh the practical extras. The Nova Pro Wireless lists ANC, transparency, simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz audio, and hot-swappable batteries. The A50 X lists a base station, game/chat mixing and its multi-system connection approach.
- Choose spatial audio by compatibility, not an unsupported ranking. Compare the listed format for your platform, then evaluate fit and sound with your own games if possible. The available product information does not show which headset localizes sounds more accurately.
