There is no official, proven sensitivity preset that is best for every Fortnite Zero Build player. Choose settings for your input device, adjust sensitivity in small steps, and keep changes only when aiming and turning feel controlled. For audio, Epic’s 2026 guide for competitive PC play recommends trying 3D Headphones and Visualize Sound Effects; those are starting points, not Zero Build-specific guarantees.
Open the settings for your input device
From the in-game menu, select the gear icon, then open the tab for the input method you use. On PC or Mac, press Esc; on PlayStation, press Options; on Xbox, press Menu; on Switch, press +. Mouse-and-keyboard settings use the arrow-keys icon, while controller settings use the gamepad icon. On PC, you can also select a controller in Controller Configuration. If a setting is missing, check that you are in the intended game mode: available settings can depend on the selected mode. Epic’s control-settings instructions explain this navigation.
Fortnite groups related options into separate areas: Mouse & Keyboard covers mouse sensitivity and keyboard movement; Keyboard Controls covers key bindings; Controller covers movement, weapon handling, sensitivity, and deadzone; and Controller Mapping covers presets and button assignments. Volume settings are separate and include sound quality and voice chat options. The labels and availability can vary by platform and mode. Epic’s menu documentation describes these categories.
Set sensitivity by feel, not by a universal preset
Epic’s reviewed official guidance does not establish a Zero Build sensitivity benchmark. A value that feels responsive on one player’s mouse, controller, or display setup may not suit another, so treat presets as starting points rather than a guaranteed advantage.

Mouse and keyboard
Epic’s 2026 competitive PC guide suggests mouse X- and Y-axis sensitivity in the 5–10% range. That is a general PC competitive starting point—not a tested Zero Build result and not controller advice. If you want to use it, begin within that range and adjust to your own aim and turning comfort. Epic’s PC settings guide provides the recommendation.
Controller
There is no official controller sensitivity value established here as best for Zero Build. Change one value at a time in a low-pressure practice setting. If your aim repeatedly passes beyond targets, try a small reduction; if turning feels laborious, try a small increase. Keep a change only if you can track targets and turn with control.

To reach aim assist settings, Epic gives this path: Controller options > Sensitivity > Use Advanced Options > Aim Assist, then select Apply. This explains where to find the option; it does not prescribe an aim-assist amount. Epic also notes that not all settings are available on every platform. See Epic’s aim-assist instructions.
Try these audio options, then judge the result for yourself

- Visualize Sound Effects: On. This displays a radial indicator showing the direction of certain in-game sounds.
These are PC competitive recommendations, not proof of a particular benefit in Zero Build. Try them with your platform and listening setup; turn them off if the presentation does not suit your preference. Epic’s accessibility support also notes that 3D audio features may help headphone users pinpoint enemy direction and that visual cues can help players with hearing impairments. No specific headset is established as superior for Fortnite Zero Build, and you do not need a particular model to follow the settings guidance. If you are choosing headphones, check compatibility with your platform, comfort for the length of your sessions, whether you prefer wired or wireless audio, and whether you want a microphone built in. These are practical selection criteria, not tested performance rankings.

Accessibility hardware is a separate consideration: Epic identifies the Xbox Accessibility Controller and accessories for players who need supported adaptive controls. They are not routine performance upgrades.
