PS VR2 Sense and Quest 3 Touch Plus controllers are not interchangeable PC peripherals. Each belongs to a different headset connection path: PS VR2 uses Sony’s PC adapter and Windows Bluetooth pairing, while Quest 3 connects to PC VR through Quest Link, Air Link, or—when streaming Steam games—Steam Link. Choose based on the headset and setup you plan to use, not on an assumption that one controller set can replace the other.

Set up PS VR2 Sense controllers on a Windows PC
What you need
- A PS VR2 headset and Sense controllers.
- The PlayStation VR2 PC adapter and a DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
- A Windows PC with Bluetooth, or a Bluetooth adapter if the PC lacks Bluetooth.
- Steam, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2 app. Sony says the app must remain installed after initial setup.
Sony’s PC adapter manual instructs users to connect the adapter to a USB 3.0 Type-A port. It warns: “Do not use an extension cable or USB hub with the PC adapter, as it may cause it to malfunction.” The PlayStation VR2 PC adapter is required for this documented PC connection route.
Pair each controller in Windows
- Install Steam, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2 app, then connect the PS VR2 headset to the PC through the adapter according to Sony’s instructions.
- Put the left Sense controller into pairing mode by holding its PS and Create buttons until the status indicator blinks.
- Put the right Sense controller into pairing mode by holding its PS and Options buttons until the status indicator blinks.
- Open Windows Bluetooth settings and select each controller to pair it.
Sony notes that Bluetooth devices and the surrounding environment can affect connection or tracking. The documentation does not establish that every generic Bluetooth adapter performs equally well, so follow Sony’s compatibility guidance rather than treating any dongle as guaranteed.

Check the PC requirements
The PlayStation VR2 app listing on Steam gives Windows 10 or 11, 8 GB RAM, and an Intel Core i5-7600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 as minimum PC requirements. It lists an RTX 3060 or Radeon RX 6600 XT or later as recommended graphics. These are the listing’s requirements accessed in 2026; check the current listing because software requirements can change.
Use Quest 3 Touch Plus controllers for PC VR
Quest 3 ships with Touch Plus controllers. Meta documents PC VR through Meta Quest Link, using either a cable or Air Link; the controllers stay within that Quest headset path rather than pairing directly to the PC as standalone PC controllers. Meta describes Touch Plus as including buttons, thumbsticks, triggers, haptic feedback, and 6DoF tracking. Those are feature descriptions, not evidence of better performance than PS VR2 Sense in a matched PC test.

Choose Quest Link or Air Link
Use Meta Quest Link for the documented Quest-to-PC connection, choosing a cable or Air Link. The setup therefore depends on the Quest headset connection, not on adding the Quest controllers as a separate Windows Bluetooth device.
Use Steam Link for wireless Steam streaming
- Install Steam and SteamVR on the PC and have them running.
- Install the Steam Link app on Quest and follow its pairing flow.
- Connect the headset and computer over the same wireless network as directed by the app.
The Steam Link listing on the Meta Store specifies a 5 GHz Wi-Fi 5 router as the minimum. It recommends Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E and a wired computer connection. These are listed network requirements and recommendations, not a guarantee of smooth streaming; actual results depend on the network path.

Can you use PS VR2 controllers with Quest 3, or Quest controllers with PS VR2?
The official documentation cited here does not provide a verified procedure for pairing either controller family with the other headset. Sony documents Sense controllers as part of the PS VR2 PC adapter setup, while Meta documents Touch Plus controllers in the Quest 3 connection path. Do not assume that direct Windows Bluetooth pairing makes the controllers interchangeable across those systems.

Which setup should you choose?
- Choose the PS VR2 route if you have a PS VR2 headset and want to use Sony’s documented PC adapter setup with SteamVR. Plan for the adapter, DisplayPort 1.4 cable, Windows Bluetooth pairing, and the required software.
- Choose the Quest 3 route if you have a Quest 3 and want PC VR through Quest Link or wireless Air Link. For Steam games streamed wirelessly, Steam Link is a separate option with its own network requirements.
- Do not choose either on unverified claims of better tracking, comfort, or latency. The specifications and setup documentation cited here do not provide a controlled comparison of those qualities.
