1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThere is no single best graphics card for ray tracing at every price: results change with the game, resolution, settings, and whether you use upscaling or frame generation. For a higher-performance shortlist, compare the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti with AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT; for a lower-cost starting point, consider the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB, with more limited headroom for ray tracing at higher resolutions. Check current local prices and benchmarks for the games you play before choosing.
How to choose a ray-tracing GPU for your budget
Start with the games and resolution you actually use, then compare results at matching settings. A card’s position in a general GPU ranking is not a guarantee of its performance in a particular ray-traced game. Look for results that distinguish native rendering from upscaling and frame generation: reconstructed or generated output can improve the experience, but it is not the same measure as native rendering performance.
- Match the test to your use: compare the same game, resolution, ray-tracing preset, and upscaling mode wherever possible.
- Check the real price: roundup prices are snapshots, not guaranteed offers. Confirm street prices and availability in your region shortly before buying.
- Verify card-specific fit: check the exact board-partner model for dimensions and cooling, and verify power draw and system requirements against the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Compare memory and features: check VRAM and the precise upscaling or frame-generation features supported by the card and game.
The available benchmark evidence does not establish a complete, like-for-like comparison of street prices, frame rates at every resolution, VRAM, power needs, or board dimensions for these candidates. Treat the cards below as a shortlist, not universal winners.
Higher-performance candidates
GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
The RTX 5070 Ti is a higher-performance ray-tracing candidate to compare against the RX 9070 XT. NVIDIA says RTX 50-series cards use its Blackwell architecture and fourth-generation ray-tracing cores; those are vendor descriptions, not independent proof of a lead in every game. Check NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series information and its generation comparison for product details, and verify feature support for the exact model rather than assuming every RTX card supports every newer DLSS capability. NVIDIA’s DLSS page describes its technology and support.

#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Radeon RX 9070 XT
The RX 9070 XT is a credible competing upper-tier option. Tom’s Hardware’s ray-tracing review combines results from 22 games and reports it slightly slower overall than the RTX 5070 Ti in that test set. Its GPU hierarchy also places the RX 9070 XT just behind the more expensive RTX 5070 Ti. Neither result establishes the ordering in every game or at every setting; consult the 22-game ray-tracing results and separate GPU hierarchy alongside tests for your target titles.
AMD describes the RX 9070 family as suited to 1440p gaming with strong ray-tracing performance. That is AMD’s claim; independent game-specific results are more useful for predicting your own frame rates. See AMD’s Radeon gaming benchmarks.

Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Lower-cost ray-tracing starting point
Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB
The RX 9060 XT 16GB is a budget-oriented candidate, but its lower tier comes with a meaningful caveat: Tom’s Hardware characterizes it as a budget/lower-mainstream GPU and warns that ray tracing at higher resolutions is a problem. Read its dedicated ray-tracing results before expecting it to handle demanding ray-traced settings at high resolution. The 16GB designation identifies this model’s memory capacity; it does not by itself guarantee a particular frame rate or remove the performance limitation.
AMD also presents the RX 9060 XT family as a 1440p option with strong gaming and ray-tracing performance. Treat that as the vendor’s positioning and weigh it against independent results in the games and settings you care about.

What benchmark roundups can—and cannot—tell you
Tom’s Hardware’s GPU roundup has a separate ray-tracing chart and says its charts were updated through June 2026. It includes the RTX 5070 Ti, RX 9070 XT, and RX 9060 XT 16GB, making it useful for an initial comparison. Its listed prices and chart positions are a dated snapshot, however—not current local offers or a promise that a card is available in your region. Check the roundup’s ray-tracing chart, then confirm today’s local prices and find game-specific tests at your resolution.
When a review reports performance with DLSS or another vendor feature enabled, note the named mode and game. Upscaling reconstructs an image from a lower rendering resolution; frame generation creates additional displayed frames. Neither should be mistaken for native rendering performance, and support depends on both the GPU and the game. Compare like with like before treating a result as evidence that one card is faster for your use.
