To save a favorite outfit in an MMO, open its appearance or wardrobe system, choose the looks for the relevant gear slots or select an outfit set, then use the game’s explicit save or apply control. The exact menu and whether saving, switching, or changing appearances costs in-game currency depend on the game.
How the process works
- Open the appearance system. Look for a menu called transmog, wardrobe, fashion, glamour, or appearance. Use the game’s own terminology once you know which MMO you are playing.
- Choose the look. Some games let you set a cosmetic appearance for each equipment slot; others let you assemble or select a saved outfit or plate.
- Save or apply it explicitly. A preview may not preserve your choices. Use the button or menu action that saves the set or applies the changes.
- Check the cost before confirming. Unlocking another saved slot, changing a cosmetic appearance, and switching between saved looks can have different costs.
These are general steps, not universal button-by-button instructions: the title, platform, and current patch are unspecified, and each game’s interface has its own rules.
How outfit saving differs across MMOs

What to check if your outfit does not stick
- You only previewed the look: return to the appearance system and use its save or apply action.
- The look changes when you equip something: check whether that game saves appearances by equipment slot and whether the new item inherits the selected slot appearance.
- You cannot save another outfit: check whether you need to unlock an additional slot or template tab.
- A change prompts for currency: distinguish the cost of changing a skin from the cost of unlocking a saved slot or switching between saved outfits.
- A full set is unavailable: check the game’s eligibility or compatibility rules; a set-based feature may not accept every combination.
Because feature names, slot limits, eligibility, and costs can change with patches, use the current in-game interface for final confirmation when those details matter.
