That total includes restarts, cutscenes, and pauses. For 100% completion, third-party estimates range from GameSpot’s 25 hours or more to a 32-hour HowLongToBeat completionist estimate displayed by IsThereAnyDeal.
How long does Resident Evil Requiem take to beat?
Capcom’s current worldwide average for a first playthrough is 19 hours 14 minutes. The official Resident Evil Portal statistics page, updated October 4, 2026 JST, says that average includes restarts, cutscenes, and pauses. It is therefore closer to total elapsed play-session time than the time shown on the game’s results screen.
Capcom says the results-screen time excludes restarts, cutscenes, and pauses, so it can be shorter than the reported average. The two numbers describe different timing methods, not contradictory completion times.
How long for the story, side content, and 100% completion?
Available estimates vary by what counts as finishing the game and who is reporting the time. The HowLongToBeat categories displayed by IsThereAnyDeal are user-submitted estimates, not Capcom measurements. GameSpot’s 100% figure is an editorial estimate.

Why do the playtime estimates differ?
Capcom’s 19-hour-14-minute figure is an average of first playthroughs using a timer that counts restarts, cutscenes, and pauses. The 11-hour HowLongToBeat figure is a user-submitted main-story category, and the available description does not establish that it uses Capcom’s timing method. Treat them as separate reference points rather than combining them or calling their difference a measured discrepancy.
The longer completionist estimates cover broader goals than simply reaching the end of the story. GameSpot describes 25 hours or more for 100% completion, while the displayed HowLongToBeat completionist category is 32 hours. Neither is an official Capcom completionist measurement.

What’s a realistic amount of time to set aside?
For a typical first run, plan around Capcom’s 19-hour-14-minute worldwide average if you want an estimate that includes pauses and restarts. Players focused on only the main story can use 11 hours as a third-party reference, but it is not directly comparable to Capcom’s total-elapsed-time average. If you intend to pursue 100% completion, use 25 hours or more as GameSpot’s guidance, with 32 hours as the displayed HowLongToBeat completionist estimate.
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth main installment in Capcom’s series and was scheduled for release on February 27, 2026, according to the company’s announcement.
