There is no universal monthly price for keeping a prerecorded video live on YouTube from the cloud. Estimate the services your design actually uses, then price their runtime, storage, transfer and optional features in your chosen region. A simple relay that sends one feed to YouTube is not the same thing as a full streaming platform that encodes multiple versions and delivers video to viewers.

Build the estimate from the architecture

For a basic cloud relay, a process reads a prerecorded file from cloud storage and sends a live contribution feed to YouTube Live. Start with this planning formula:

Monthly total = compute/runtime + storage + transfer + enabled service charges + applicable taxes or fees.

This is a way to organize an estimate, not a price quote. The final amount depends on the provider, region, operating hours, bitrate, selected services, allowances, discounts and tax treatment. No current relay-specific provider rates are established here, so enter your actual choices into the provider’s current calculator or rate card.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Compute and runtime

Count the hours a virtual machine or managed encoding/relay service will run during the month. Include the capacity required for your encoding settings and any extra instances or headroom used for redundancy. A continuously running process can incur runtime charges even when the prerecorded video itself is not changing.

Storage and requests

Include the source recording and any intermediate or output files you retain. If your provider charges for storage operations, include the requests needed to read, write or manage those files as well as the stored capacity. Avoid counting temporary files that your design never creates.

Transfer from the cloud to YouTube

Estimate the contribution feed’s data volume from its bitrate and operating time, then apply the provider’s current regional transfer pricing and any applicable allowance. For a constant bitrate, a useful approximation is:

Data in decimal GB ≈ bitrate in megabits per second × seconds streamed ÷ 8,000.

  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.

For example, a 6 Mb/s feed sent for 200 hours is approximately 540 GB: 6 × 200 × 3,600 ÷ 8,000. This is a volume estimate, not a charge; the rate, billing definition, included transfer and any rounding depend on the selected provider and region. Use the actual bitrate you intend to send, not just the source file’s resolution.

Optional services

Add charges only for features your design uses. These may include transcoding, packaging, redundancy, logs and metrics, backups, static addresses or a CDN. A relay does not automatically need every component found in a managed live-video architecture.

Keep relay costs separate from viewer delivery

A cloud process sending one contribution feed to YouTube is not equivalent to a cloud system that encodes several renditions, packages a live channel and distributes the resulting video to viewers. AWS’s Live Streaming on AWS guide describes distinct live and video-on-demand workflows; its worked live examples include encoding, packaging/origination and viewer distribution. Do not use a full-stack total as the price of a single relay feed.

This distinction matters because a full delivery design can incur substantial distribution charges driven by audience and delivered volume, in addition to processing. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMPS for YouTube Live and also discusses HLS for encoders that do not support the relevant RTMP capabilities. That guidance helps identify the destination protocol; it does not establish a cloud relay price.

Use published examples only within their assumptions

AWS’s planning documentation, accessed in 2026, gives an example of about $3,838.69 for 200 hours per month. The scenario assumes about 100 viewers, an HD 1080p encoding profile, US East (N. Virginia), standard pricing without free-tier use or discounts, and a full MediaLive/MediaPackage/CloudFront workflow. AWS attributes about $904.69 to live encoding and packaging and about $2,934.00 to distribution in that example. It illustrates how viewer delivery can dominate a full streaming stack; it is not an estimate for pushing one prerecorded feed to YouTube. AWS says prices are subject to change and notes that its examples depend on assumptions and may be higher than actual use. See the AWS cost example and assumptions.

A separate AWS cost FAQ, first published in 2018 and updated for MediaPackage changes effective in 2019, explains how audience size, average delivered quality and CDN cache or egress assumptions affect delivery costs. Its historical rates are not current price guidance. It is useful for understanding why a viewer-delivery stack can cost far more than the compute needed to keep one relay process running.

Turn the model into a monthly estimate

  1. Choose the architecture. Decide whether you need only a relay to YouTube, or also encoding, packaging, redundancy or delivery to viewers. Do not price services your design will not use.
  2. Set the operating schedule. Calculate the actual monthly runtime in hours. If the stream is not continuous, use the planned schedule rather than assuming a full month.
  3. Specify the feed. Record its bitrate and operating hours, then estimate transfer volume. If the design creates multiple feeds or renditions, account for each one that is actually sent.
  4. List storage and other billable use. Include retained source and intermediate files, relevant storage requests, and any selected supporting services.
  5. Price each line for the right region. Use the selected provider’s current calculator or rate card, and include applicable allowances, discounts, taxes and fees without assuming they apply.
  6. Check actual usage against the estimate. After deployment, monitor the bill and usage. AWS recommends creating a budget through Cost Explorer to help manage cloud costs; see its budget guidance.

What changes the result most

  • Architecture: a relay-only design has different billable components from managed encoding, packaging and viewer delivery.
  • Bitrate and runtime: higher feed bitrate or more streaming hours increases the amount of data sent; runtime also affects compute charges.
  • Encoding profile and renditions: processing capacity depends on the chosen encoding settings, and multiple output renditions add work compared with a single feed.
  • Region and provider rates: compute, storage and transfer pricing varies by service and region. Apply the current rate card for the deployment location.
  • Redundancy and retained data: additional capacity, backups, logs and stored outputs can add charges if enabled.
  • Viewer delivery: audience size, average delivered quality and CDN assumptions can materially change a full distribution stack’s cost, but are not part of a simple cloud-to-YouTube relay estimate.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the goal is simply to keep prerecorded videos live on YouTube, StreamNeo is a managed alternative to estimating and operating your own cloud relay: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Every slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Start the free day on StreamNeo.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
