For Mortal Kombat Mobile version 7.3.0, the strongest all-around choices include leading Diamond fighters such as Homelander, MK11 Frost and Darkest Knight Noob Saibot, while Gold standouts include Klassic Scorpion, Klassic Smoke and Kombat Cup Johnny Cage. These are editorial rankings, not official game ratings: fusion, gear, team composition and mode can make a developed Gold more useful than a low-fusion Diamond.
This guide uses the broad rarity-by-rarity list updated by Pocket Gamer on September 2, 2026, and cross-checks its investment advice against other independent tier lists. The game’s official listing describes a roster of more than 150 fighters, so the lists below cover Pocket Gamer’s ranked Diamond, Gold and Silver entries; Bronze is identified separately because that guide does not assign it tiers.
How to use this tier list
Treat a tier as a comparison among fighters of the same rarity at a high-investment ceiling, not as a promise about your current account. Pocket Gamer ranks fighters at their best when fully geared. MK Mobile Base compares fighters at similar investment and considers abilities, versatility, team utility and survivability across Towers, Krypt and Survivor; MK Souls emphasizes repeatability, mode coverage, scaling, equipment fit and team value in difficult content and progression. None of these lists is an official game ranking or a controlled win-rate study.
- For a developed roster: use the tier placements as a shortlist, then choose for the mode, team and fight modifier you expect to face.
- For a newer account: weigh current fusion, available equipment and team synergy more heavily than rarity. MK Souls specifically notes that a Fusion X Gold can outperform a low-Fusion Diamond.
- For a specialized team: do not reject a fighter solely for a lower general tier. A character’s utility or synergy can be more important than broad rankings in a particular setup.
The game includes Towers, Krypt, Faction Wars, weekly challenges and Kombat Pass seasons, and update 7.3 added Battle Modifiers to Klash Towers. Modes and modifiers can therefore shift a fighter’s practical value.

Independent September 2026 rankings also put Homelander, MK11 Frost, Darkest Knight Noob Saibot and several MK1 fighters among the Diamond leaders. Their lists differ on individual entries: for example, MK Mobile Base lists MK11 Frost in S, while the Pocket Gamer roster above does not place that card in its listed Diamond tiers. Read each placement as a source’s editorial judgment rather than a universal consensus.

MK Mobile Base also places Onslaught Jax, Lizard Baraka, Lizard Jade, Kombat Cup Sonya Blade, Klassic Mileena and Lizard Noob Saibot among its Gold S examples. This is useful corroboration for investment candidates, not a replacement for the source-specific placements above.

Silver and Bronze fighters
Silver
Pocket Gamer’s Silver list has no S tier. Its A tier is Standard Cassie Cage, Standard Johnny Cage, Klassic Kitana, Standard Reptile, Standard Scorpion and Standard Sub-Zero. Its B tier is Standard Ermac, Standard Jacqui Briggs, Standard Jax Briggs, Standard Kano, Standard Kotal Kahn, Standard Kung Jin and Standard Sonya Blade. Its C tier is Standard D’Vorah, Farmer Jax Briggs and Standard Kenshi. The guide treats Silver fighters as situational rather than a priority over stronger rarities.
Bronze
Pocket Gamer does not divide Bronze fighters into tiers, judging a ladder unhelpful for the small group. It names Johnny Cage, Lin Kuei, Monk, Oni, Osh-Tekk, Saurian, Sergeant, Shirai Ryu and Trooper. That is not a claim that every Bronze card has equal value; it means this particular ranking does not assign them comparative placements.

What changed in update 7.3
Warner Bros. Games’ official update 7.3 notes identify MK II Movie Scorpion and MK1 Sub-Zero as new Diamond fighters. Their kits illustrate why a roster-wide tier alone cannot capture team utility.
MK II Movie Scorpion
Scorpion is a Diamond Martial Artist/Netherrealm fighter with a Bunseki system. His abilities increase Elemental damage enemies take and reduce their Special Attack damage; his counterattack gains effects as Bunseki stacks. While he is alive, Martial Artist and Netherrealm teammates gain Fire damage-over-time immunity. The notes also describe MK II Movie team benefits, including reduced Ice damage and a tag-in Shield.

MK1 Sub-Zero
Sub-Zero is a Diamond Martial Artist whose Bloodchill meter leads to Blizzard mode. Blizzard boosts power generation and damage, and his vampiric Specials provide healing. The update notes say MK1 teammates gain Freeze immunity, reduced Fire damage taken and Frostbite immunity. The notes state his full release is during Season of Ice.
Ascension and mode changes
Update 7.3 expanded Ascension eligibility, including Elder God Kenshi, Edenian Blood Kitana, Onslaught Jax and Tigrar Fury Goro at Stage I. At Stage II max Ascension, eligible characters gain a fourth Equipment slot and Friendship access with the appropriate Equipment sets; the first listed group includes Hanzo Hasashi Scorpion, Klassic Shang Tsung and Klassic Sub-Zero. Because Ascension and equipment access can alter a fighter’s ceiling, a ranking that ignores account progression may not reflect what a player can field today.
How to choose who to invest in
Use the tier as a starting comparison, then assess how the fighter contributes to your account and the content you actually play.
- Start with the mode. For Towers, Krypt, Survivor or Realm Klash, favor repeatable performance and utility under difficult fights. For Faction Wars, challenges or general progression, consider the teams and matchups you can field there.
- Compare realistic investment. Check fusion, Ascension stage and available equipment. A fighter whose tier assumes max gear may be a weaker short-term choice than a higher-fusion card already on your roster.
- Identify the job. Look for reliable damage, control, power management, survivability or sustain, plus useful effects for teammates. Base stats by themselves do not capture those contributions.
- Check dependencies. Ask whether the fighter needs a particular team, a modifier, or rare/high-fusion equipment to perform at the level implied by the tier.
- Keep a mode-specific option. A broad all-around ranking is a poor reason to dismantle a team that works well in a specific mode or against a specific modifier.
All placements here reflect the cited September 2026 rankings for version 7.3.0. They can become outdated after balance changes or roster additions; the official game update notes are the best source for confirming what changed in a patch.
