Start with the game’s official performance tier for your target resolution, then adjust settings and AMD FSR 2 to suit your PC. Sony’s tiers are target estimates, not guaranteed frame rates: results vary by hardware, scene, resolution and which of the collection’s two games you play. Historical reviews illustrate that variation, but they are not a substitute for testing on a current system.
Official PC performance targets and system requirements
The official tiers pair a resolution and frame-rate target with a graphics preset and GPU class. Use them as a starting point rather than a promise that every scene will hold the listed frame rate.

These are the publisher’s stated PC targets, not a current benchmark guarantee. The PlayStation PC requirements page lists CPU pairs of Intel i5-4430 or Ryzen 3 1200 at Minimum, i7-4770 or Ryzen 5 1500X at Recommended, i7-7700K or Ryzen 7 3700X at Performance, and i9-9900K or Ryzen 9 3950X at Ultra. Naughty Dog’s support FAQ and PlayStation’s September 2022 blog instead list the Minimum Intel CPU as i5-4330. The official sources therefore disagree on that one model; the other listed CPU tiers align. What the official targets mean in real play
Independent tests show why a tier should not be read as a guarantee. Notebookcheck’s 2022 review measured an average of 57.4 FPS at 3840×2160 Ultra with a desktop RTX 3080 and i9-12900K, and 40.9 FPS with a desktop RTX 3070 paired with the same CPU. Those results came from a demanding opening sequence in The Lost Legacy; they describe that review’s hardware and scene, not every chapter or present-day PC. Notebookcheck’s benchmark review.

DSOGaming’s October 2022 analysis tested a range of Radeon and GeForce cards with an i9-9900K and 16 GB DDR4. Its GPU and CPU tests used an early open area in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End; the author noted that The Lost Legacy appeared more demanding in initial tests. The analysis also reported that the PC version had no built-in benchmark tool, making the chosen scene important. DSOGaming’s PC performance analysis.
The collection comprises two separate games—Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy—so a result from one sequence should not be assumed to predict performance in the other. When comparing a benchmark with your own run, check the GPU model and whether it is a laptop or desktop part, CPU, resolution, preset, scene, game version, driver, average and low-frame metrics, and upscaling mode. The cited reviews are historical tests; they do not establish current performance on later hardware, drivers or software builds.

Graphics and display settings you can change
The PC menu exposes Texture Quality, Model Quality, Anisotropic Filtering, Shadows, Reflections and Ambient Occlusion. The collection supports 4K and ultrawide displays, and includes AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 (FSR 2), a temporal upscaler. A compatible PC and display are required for 4K or ultrawide use. How to tune settings for your PC
Because no official per-setting performance ranking is published, tune against the resolution and frame rate you actually want rather than treating any universal “best settings” list as measured fact.

- Choose a target. Decide whether you are aiming for 1080p, 1440p or 4K, and whether your priority is image quality or a higher frame rate. Use the closest official tier as an orientation point.
- Check performance in a repeatable scene. Play the same section when comparing changes, and keep the resolution, preset and game consistent. The collection has two games and scene complexity differs, so results from one do not automatically apply to the other.
- Change one setting at a time. Adjust the available quality controls—textures, models, anisotropic filtering, shadows, reflections and ambient occlusion—then observe your own frame rate and image quality. This is practical tuning guidance, not a measured ranking of which option saves the most FPS.
- Try FSR 2 if you need another balance. As a temporal upscaler, it offers an alternative way to balance output resolution and performance. Compare its image and frame rate on your own setup; the official feature documentation does not prescribe a mode for every GPU or display.

Naughty Dog’s official PC release-notes index lists v1.4 as its newest PC release-note entry; the list reviewed includes v1.4, v1.3.20812, v1.2.20711 and v1.1.20381. Audio pops, clicks or compatibility problems
Version 1.4, dated July 6, 2023, added audio compatibility choices. Naughty Dog says increasing audio latency can improve reliability on lower-spec CPUs and may address pops, clicks, distortion, some large audio-interface buffers or some wireless-headphone issues. Older CPUs without AVX2
Version 1.3.20812, dated November 16, 2022, added fallback executables for older CPUs without AVX2 support; the notes say these have no performance impact on newer CPUs. That update also documented mouse and stability improvements and an option to relocate the shader cache. Version 1.3.20812 release notes.
Crashes, stability and motion blur
Version 1.2.20711 was a March 31, 2023 hotfix for several reported crashes and reverted a performance improvement from the preceding update. Version 1.1.20381, dated October 28, 2022, documented general stability and performance improvements and noted that motion blur becomes less effective at higher frame rates. Optional hardware considerations
- Storage: the official requirements list 126 GB and recommend an SSD even at Minimum. This supports choosing faster storage for installation, not a claim that an SSD raises FPS.
- Display: 4K and ultrawide are supported, but the official 4K/60 Ultra target calls for the substantially higher GPU tier shown above. A display upgrade alone does not establish that a PC can meet that target.
- Controller: DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive trigger effects are supported on PC through a wired connection. This is an optional play feature, not a performance upgrade. PlayStation PC features.
