Search the warehouse’s exterior wall, then interact with the nearby piece of metal protruding from the sand. That second interaction completes the quest objective; you do not need to extract just to finish it.
Where to find the cache in “Marked for Death”
After taking the quest from Tian Wen, travel to Su Durante Warehouses in northern Buried City. The cache is outside the warehouse, not inside it. Circle the building and inspect its exterior wall: guides place it on the west side, also described as the left-hand wall from a particular approach. Since “left” depends on which way you face, use the warehouse exterior as your landmark rather than relying on a fixed compass-facing direction.
The quest’s premise is to follow signs of a trap. Tian Wen says she rigged the cache with tracing color so whoever triggered it should have left marks behind. You may notice ribbon or footprints around the area, but they are not a required extra objective in the directly described walkthroughs.
What to do after searching the cache
- Search the cache. Interact with the square container at the warehouse’s outside wall.
- Look nearby for the metal clue. Turn from the cache toward the trees and inspect the surrounding sand. Find the piece of metal sticking out and interact with it. Guides describe it as nearby, slightly west of the cache; it is a fragment in the ground, not another container.
The metal fragment is the final clue interaction. The two walkthroughs that detail this step say it completes the objective during the raid.

Do you have to extract to complete the quest?
No extraction is required for the “Marked for Death” objective itself: searching the cache and interacting with the metal fragment are the necessary steps. One guide says progress only counts after returning to Speranza, but that conflicts with the two walkthroughs that explicitly identify the metal interaction as quest completion.
Extraction still matters if you want to leave the raid with other loot. Once the objective is complete, decide whether to keep exploring or head for an available exit; the sources do not establish a guaranteed-safe route or a fixed extraction wait time. GameSpot describes Northern Station, near the Library, as an exit option, not a required step or the only way out.

Quest prerequisite and reward
The community-maintained ARC Raiders Wiki lists Broken Monument as the prerequisite and Market Correction as the next quest. It lists these rewards for “Marked for Death”:
- 1 Shotgun Choke II
- 1 Angled Grip II
Return to Tian Wen to collect the listed reward. The wiki is community-maintained, so quest requirements and rewards may change in a later game update.

Embark Studios’ December Update 1.7.0 notes that clue clarity for “Marked for Death” was improved, but does not specify a different clue location or revised steps. If a later patch changes the quest, follow the in-game objective and updated environmental cues.
