Prices above are not a like-for-like record of what shoppers paid in 2022. The launch prices are US manufacturer MSRPs from 2020, while the G435 source identifies a price tier rather than a dated transaction price.
Logitech G435: the budget wireless pick
Headphones.com’s 2022 guide recommends the G435 as a low-cost wireless gaming headset, citing low-latency wireless, imaging and staging, tuning, and price as positives. The same guide flags microphone quality, limited headband adjustment and plastic construction. It describes the microphone as serviceable but prone to breakup, and says the headset is not its choice for streaming or voice-over. Those are that guide’s reviewer judgments, not a universal or controlled comparison.

Logitech’s product page lists compatibility with PC, LIGHTSPEED wireless and Bluetooth, along with dual beamforming microphones. Those microphone details are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish voice quality in actual calls. Logitech also currently lists a minimum 22% post-consumer recycled plastic, but that current product-page detail should not be read as a claim about the headset’s 2022 materials.
Choose the G435 if wireless flexibility and a budget-oriented purchase matter more than dependable microphone performance for production work. If you wear a headset for long sessions, check its fit in person or confirm the seller’s return policy: the cited guide specifically notes limited headband extension.

Razer BlackShark V2: wired flexibility and a removable mic
The BlackShark V2 offers two wired routes: a 3.5 mm connection and an included USB sound card, according to Razer. The manufacturer lists a removable HyperClear cardioid microphone, PC compatibility and THX Spatial Audio. Razer’s July 2020 announcement said the USB sound card was compatible with Windows 10 PCs; verify operating-system and software support for the particular configuration you use rather than assuming that old statement defines current requirements.
Razer announced US launch MSRPs of $99.99 for the BlackShark V2 and $59.99 for the V2 X in July 2020. The company listed weights of 262 g for the V2 and 240 g for the V2 X. These are manufacturer-reported figures, not independent measurements, and the launch MSRPs are not evidence of 2022 shelf prices.

Do not confuse the V2 with the V2 X. Razer’s product information differentiates the X by its fixed microphone and 3.5 mm-only connection. That is a meaningful practical distinction if you want a removable mic or need to use the USB sound-card option.
What THX Spatial Audio does—and does not establish
Spatial processing is a feature, not a guarantee that every player, game or listener will get better positional cues. Razer’s page quotes Apex Legends Senior Audio Director Erik Kraber praising how the headset’s surround mix works with that game’s engine. That is a vendor-published endorsement, not an independent comparative test.

Wired or wireless: choose for your setup
- Consider wireless if freedom of movement is important and the headset’s supported wireless method works with your PC. The G435 lists both LIGHTSPEED and Bluetooth, but confirm which mode and features apply to your devices.
- Consider wired if you prefer a direct connection or want the BlackShark V2’s choice of analog 3.5 mm and USB sound-card connections. Connection options can differ even between closely named models.
- Check the exact variant before buying. Confirm included adapters, software and operating-system requirements, and whether the functions you care about work on PC rather than another platform.
“Wireless” and “wired” do not by themselves determine sound or microphone quality. The sources here do not provide a controlled cross-model test that would justify ranking these headsets by a single performance score.

- Set your budget using dated prices. Treat the Razer figures here as 2020 US launch MSRPs, not a current quote or a known 2022 selling price. The G435 was placed in an under-$100 guide, but the guide does not establish a single transaction price.
- Match the connection to your PC. Check whether your machine and preferred setup support the specific wireless method, analog connector or USB sound card. Do not assume every feature works through every connection.
- Prioritize microphone needs honestly. The G435’s mic has specific caveats in the 2022 reviewer assessment. For streaming, voice-over or work calls, compare independent voice samples or tests for the exact model; a microphone specification alone is not an audio-quality result.
- Account for fit. Headband adjustment and comfort can outweigh a feature list during long sessions. The available 2022 guide calls out limited G435 headband extension, while the cited sources do not offer a uniform comfort test across all models.
- Treat platform labels as a starting point. A PC-compatible label does not prove that every console-oriented function or software feature is available on PC. Confirm model-specific support before purchasing.
What about the SteelSeries Arctis 7P?
SoundGuys describes the Arctis 7P as designed with PlayStation in mind and suitable for multi-platform buyers. Its review update dated February 24, 2022 also noted limited Arctis 7P availability while discussing the Arctis 7+ Wireless. The cited update does not establish a complete PC feature comparison, so the 7P is not a PC-first recommendation here. Check the exact model’s connection, included adapters and PC software support before treating cross-platform compatibility as full PC feature parity.

How strong are these recommendations?
The G435 recommendation comes from Headphones.com’s 2022 under-$100 guide. Razer’s pages establish manufacturer-described connections and features; the MSRP figures come from its July 2020 announcement. SoundGuys supplies the dated Arctis 7P context. These sources do not amount to one controlled comparison across the headsets, and current PC Gamer coverage is contemporary context rather than evidence of 2022 rankings.
That distinction matters: manufacturer terms such as “low-latency” or a listed driver size are not independent proof of superior game performance. Use reviewer judgments as one input, then weigh your own priorities—especially connection, fit and voice chat—against the exact model details.
