Yes—but “cut” does not mean the Episode 6 romance scenes were finished and removed. Dispatch writer Pierre Shorette said the team cut some sex scenes, but a later account of an interview with Shorette and director Nick Herman clarified that the specific overnight scenes hinted at in game code were never storyboarded or animated. The developers cited money and production scope.
Were Dispatch’s cut romance scenes ever made?
Not as completed scenes, according to VideoGamer’s December 23, 2025 report on an interview with Shorette and Herman. Players had found code suggesting that a love interest might spend the night after the Episode 6 party, depending on their choices. Herman said those scenes “were never storyboarded,” did not enter animation, and “never tangibly existed.”
That distinction explains why calling them “unused scenes” can be misleading: the reporting describes ideas implied by code, not finished content that can simply be restored. Herman also said, “Everything that got made, shipped.”
Why were the scenes cut?
Herman’s explanation, as reported by VideoGamer, was brief: “It was just money.” Dispatch’s polished visuals and branching choices required production resources, and the team had to reduce what it planned to make.

The Episode 6 party sequence had initially been envisioned as nearly a full episode set at protagonist Robert’s apartment. Herman estimated that the developers removed or condensed about 80 pages of writing. That figure is his estimate relayed in secondary reporting, not an independently audited comparison of script drafts.
Shorette had described the broader trade-off in an Inverse interview published November 12, 2025: “We’re still an indie studio, I think people forget that because it’s doing so well and looks so good. But because it looks good, it costs a lot per second to make this video game, and sometimes it costs things that often with these games is branching too.”

Which characters were planned romance options?
Shorette told Inverse that Blonde Blazer and Invisigal were the two planned romance options. He also said the team had not anticipated how much players would care about romance.
The reports do not provide a route-by-route inventory of the proposed scenes or establish which character’s route the Episode 6 code referred to. The game’s two planned romance options should not be taken as confirmation that each had a fully defined overnight scene.

Can you play the cut scenes, or will they be released?
The reporting does not establish that the specific Episode 6 scenes can be played as finished removed content. Shorette did say in the Inverse interview, “Maybe folks will get to see those one day,” after saying the team had cut some sex scenes. Read alongside Herman’s later clarification, that remark signals a possibility, not a promise to release completed scenes.
Inverse also reported that AdHoc was considering a second season. It did not confirm that a second season would happen, that these scenes would be developed, or that any future release would include them. No release was promised in the reporting cited here.

What the developers’ statements do—and don’t—establish
- Established: Shorette said some sex scenes were cut, and the developers attributed production decisions to budget and scope.
- Clarified later: The specific Episode 6 overnight scenes suggested by code never reached storyboard or animation, according to Herman as reported by VideoGamer.
- Not established: A completed scene hidden in the game, a confirmed release of cut content, or a guaranteed second season.
