The non-XT Radeon RX 9060 lands close to the GeForce RTX 5060 in two published gaming comparisons, but neither test proves a universal tie. TechSpot found very similar frame rates in a seven-game aggregate; Tom’s Hardware reported that a separate nine-game, 1080p test put the RX 9060 within 2% of the RTX 5060. The results apply to those games and settings—not every game, resolution, or graphics feature.
How close is the RX 9060 to the RTX 5060?
In TechSpot’s seven-game geometric mean, published November 20, 2025, the RX 9060 delivered “very similar fps performance” to the RTX 5060. Separately, Tom’s Hardware reported on August 12, 2025, that South Korean YouTuber Technosaurus’ nine-game test at 1080p, with all sliders at maximum, placed the RX 9060 within 2% of the RTX 5060. These are two distinct comparisons with different game samples and methods, not a single standardized result.
The aggregate figures establish that the cards can perform at roughly the same level in those test sets. They do not show that every title runs equally well, or identify a winner for your game library. Neither cited comparison supplies a universal result across all games, settings, and features.
What the RX 9060 benchmark results show
TechSpot’s seven-game review
TechSpot’s review compares the RX 9060 with the RTX 5060 and other cards across seven games. Its overall result describes the two GPUs as very similar in frame rates. Individual games can depart from that aggregate: in TechSpot’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 testing, the RX 9060 was about 20% faster than the RTX 5060 on the Basic preset; on Extreme, it was 25% faster at 1080p and 16% faster at 1440p. In the same seven-game geomean, TechSpot found the non-XT RX 9060 13–14% behind the RX 9060 XT, depending on resolution. That result is another reason to check the exact model: the XT is a distinct, faster card in this test, not a suffix that can be ignored.
Technosaurus’ nine-game 1080p test, as reported by Tom’s Hardware
Tom’s Hardware reported that Technosaurus tested nine games at 1080p with all sliders at maximum. The reported aggregate put the RX 9060 within 2% of the RTX 5060 and 6% behind the RX 9060 XT. Make sure you are comparing the right Radeon
The RX 9060 and RX 9060 XT are different products. TechSpot describes the non-XT RX 9060 as an 8GB card with 1,792 cores, a 128-bit GDDR6 interface, 288 GB/s memory bandwidth, and 132W total board power. In its November 2025 review, TechSpot reported that the non-XT was available only through select system integrators, with no standalone retail card; it obtained its review sample by buying a complete system. That is a dated availability report, not confirmation of what is sold in every market in October 2026. TechSpot’s review details the non-XT RX 9060.
AMD’s May 20, 2025 announcement lists the RX 9060 XT in 8GB and 16GB versions, each with 32 compute units and a 128-bit interface. The announced starting board power and suggested launch prices differ by version:

Why a near-tie may not settle your choice
Average frame rates compress many game-specific results into one number. Your outcome can differ with the title, resolution, graphics settings, ray tracing, memory demands, drivers, and whether upscaling or frame generation is enabled. A benchmark’s result is most useful when its conditions resemble the way you play.

- Check the games you play. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 results show how one title and preset can favor a card even when the broader average is close.
- Match the resolution and settings. The Tom’s Hardware report is specifically a nine-game 1080p run at maximum slider settings; TechSpot’s review provides separate results and aggregates. Do not carry one resolution’s margin over to another.
- Separate rasterization from ray tracing. The near-tie figures above should not be read as a ray-tracing verdict. GamersNexus’ review concerns the RX 9060 XT 16GB, not the non-XT RX 9060, and reports that the XT’s lead over the RTX 5060 in selected raster tests varies by title; its ray-tracing results also vary, with VRAM limits affecting some outcomes. - Distinguish rendered frames from generated frames. NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 announcement describes DLSS 4, Multi Frame Generation, Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, Reflex, and GDDR7 memory. What the tests mean for buying
The evidence supports a narrow conclusion: the non-XT RX 9060 can be close to the RTX 5060 in gaming averages, including in two different published test sets. It does not provide a current value comparison. The cited launch figures are historical, and current retailer prices and availability for the RX 9060, RX 9060 XT, and RTX 5060 were not verified for a specific market. Compare local offers for the exact GPU model and memory configuration before deciding which is the better buy.
If a listing says RX 9060 XT, it is not the non-XT model tested in the headline comparison. Likewise, an 8GB or 16GB XT listing should be identified by its memory capacity rather than treated as interchangeable. For a purchase decision, look for benchmarks using the same model, games, resolution, settings, and ray-tracing or upscaling options that matter to you.
