Wait for a Surveyor to stop and transmit its blue beam, then shoot the exposed core. If you need to damage its armor first, use a weapon with at least Moderate ARC Armor Penetration; if your available kit cannot meet that threshold, it may be better to leave the Surveyor alone than spend scarce gear while it flees.
How to kill a Surveyor

- Consider a stun only if its cost makes sense. The guide names a Hornet Driver or Showstopper as options for stopping the Surveyor and creating an opening. Use one only if you have it and value the likely opportunity more than keeping the item.
- Stop if it escapes. The guide reports that a Surveyor can roll away faster than a Raider can sprint. Chasing after it detects you can consume ammunition without restoring the core window.
Which weapons and ammo can damage its armor?
ARC Armor Penetration matters more than the weapon’s displayed damage alone when you are shooting the plating. The Arc Raiders AI guide places medium-penetration weapons at the minimum effective level and describes heavy, launcher, and energy classes as stronger. The available guides do not establish a reliable economic break-even point, so there is no supported universal rule for how much gear a Surveyor is worth.
