What talisman farming means in Minecraft Dungeons II
Talismans are equipment that provide passive bonuses and help customize a build, according to the official gameplay-systems overview. That overview says quests can also reward gear, but does not publish a talisman drop table or a specific farming route. A preview by Xbox Wire describes three talisman slots and a bone talisman that summons a dog companion; it is an observed preview example, not a complete acquisition guide: Xbox Wire’s hands-on preview.
For the eight-item secret-chest set described by launch-week guides, focus on exploration and room layouts rather than repeatedly defeating enemies. Those guides report five fixed-location chests and three items associated with procedural rooms. Their locations and conditions are secondary-source guidance and may change with updates.

How to search for fixed-location secret chests
- Travel to a listed region. The launch-week location guides name Howling Woods, Rainy Plains, Frozen Highlands, Humbler Huskland, and Lullaby Hills for fixed-location secret talismans.
- Explore beyond the main route. Follow the relevant guide’s directions to the hidden chest route rather than grinding enemies for a random drop.
- Open and collect the chest item. Track which of the reported eight secret-chest talismans you have found, so you can focus subsequent searches on missing items.
The guides establish the regions and the fixed-location approach, but the official gameplay article does not confirm the detailed chest routes. Check the current in-game layout if a guide’s directions do not match your version.
How to search procedural dungeon and rift rooms
- Choose the matching activity. Search an Overworld dungeon for Glowstone Flask, a Sift Ravines dungeon for Soul Chip, or a rift for Ocelot’s Paw, as reported by the launch-week guides.
- Explore side rooms. Look for the described room layout instead of assuming the talisman will drop from an enemy or appear on the main path.
- Generate another run if the room is missing. The guides describe these rooms as procedural, so a particular layout may not be present every time.
- Collect the talisman when you find the room. No reliable room spawn percentage or guaranteed number of runs is established by the available sources.
Unlocking the Howling Woods reward
Launch-week guides report that collecting all eight secret-chest talismans opens a secret route in Howling Woods to Mosstrosity. Defeating the boss reportedly rewards Wonderful Wheat, a ninth talisman outside the eight-item chest collection. Treat this unlock and reward sequence as guide-reported behavior, not a complete official acquisition specification; current routes or rewards could differ after game updates.

What is—and is not—known about drop odds
- The official gameplay overview identifies talismans as equipment and says quests can reward gear, but does not provide item-specific rates or a farming table.
- Launch-week location guides report fixed chest locations and procedural-room items, but do not establish spawn probabilities or expected runs.
- No guaranteed count of attempts, enemy drop rate, or statistically supported efficiency comparison between routes is available. Do not treat repeated runs as a guaranteed method beyond continuing to search for the reported room layout.
Minecraft Dungeons II is available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, according to the official launch article. Its routes and rewards may be affected by subsequent patches, so check current in-game conditions if a guide no longer matches what you see.
