The Battlefield 6 Rapid Fire assignments reportedly unlock three assault rifles in order: KORD 6P67, NVO-228E, then L85A3. The current objective counts below come from a secondary guide; check each assignment card in your game before you start, because EA’s official weapon overview confirms the rewards but does not list every stage requirement.
Rapid Fire assignments and rewards
EA’s weapon overview associates Rapid Fire 1 with the KORD 6P67, Rapid Fire 2 with the NVO-228E, and Rapid Fire 3 with the L85A3. EA describes the KORD as a low-recoil, high-rate-of-fire rifle suited to close and long ranges, the NVO-228E as designed for mid-range encounters, and the L85A3 as favoring mid-to-long-range engagements. EA calls assault rifles “fully-automatic, maneuverable, and highly-modular all-around rifles” that support aggressive, adaptable loadouts. EA’s Battlefield 6 weapon overview gives the weapon descriptions and reward associations.

How to complete each assignment
Rapid Fire 1: earn the KORD 6P67
The reported requirements are 300 assault-rifle kills and 10,000 damage dealt with assault rifles. Use assault rifles throughout ordinary infantry play so both tallies can progress in the same sessions.

The guide flags a possible card-text error: if the first objective reads “Inflict damage with Assault Rifles (300),” it says that tally is kills, not 300 damage. The separate 10,000-damage objective remains. Because display text may change between builds, use the current card as your first reference and treat this discrepancy as a reported issue rather than a guaranteed display bug.
Rapid Fire 2: earn the NVO-228E
The reported requirements are 300 kills with either the KORD 6P67 or B36A4, plus 100 kills with assault rifles beyond 50 metres while aiming down sights. The distance kills are the more specific task: the weapon must be an assault rifle, the target must be farther than 50 metres, and you must be aiming down sights when the kill is made.
For those kills, look for longer sightlines and use a controlled pace rather than forcing close engagements. Maps and modes differ in how often they create those opportunities, so choose a setting that lets you repeatedly engage at range. These are practical suggestions from the guide, not independently tested strategies.

Rapid Fire 3: earn the L85A3
The reported requirements are 4,000 close-quarters damage while hip-firing with assault rifles and 300 kills using the SOR-556 MK2 or NVO-228E. These are separate criteria: close-range hip-fire damage does not replace the named-rifle kill count.

Play around close objectives and interior spaces to create more hip-fire engagements, then use either named rifle for the required kills. Keep the hip-fire condition in mind for the damage tally; aiming down sights does not meet that part of the reported objective.

If a tally appears stuck, first check that the current session allows assignment progression and that your weapon and firing condition match the card. All Things How reports that progress may update intermittently and that some community or Portal sessions may not count when relevant progression is disabled. It also mentions returning to the menu or restarting as possible refresh workarounds, but does not guarantee that either will fix a stalled tracker.

EA’s Update 1.2.3.0, published April 10, 2026 and scheduled to go live April 14, lists general improvements to assignment display and a specific improvement to the Rapid Fire 1 challenge notification in free-to-play modes. It does not provide the complete current Rapid Fire criteria, so it cannot resolve every discrepancy between a guide and an in-game card.
Make assignment progress count toward other challenges
EA’s challenge progression guide says daily and weekly objectives can align with longer assignments, letting a match contribute to multiple rewards. Check your active challenges before playing, then pick a loadout and mode that satisfy overlapping objectives without compromising the specific Rapid Fire requirements. EA also explains that weapon challenge assignments unlock weapons beyond those available through Career Ranks.
