The feature lets eligible paid members enable add-ons from WoW’s in-game menu while streaming, but it offers a managed selection—not the full CurseForge library. NVIDIA’s 2024 announcement does not establish which add-ons currently work with Midnight.
What NVIDIA announced
NVIDIA said it had worked with CurseForge to make more than 25 popular WoW add-ons available to GeForce NOW Ultimate and Priority members, including Day Pass users. In the announcement, NVIDIA called the feature “Mod Support,” while describing the items themselves as CurseForge add-ons. In WoW, “add-ons” is the more precise term.
The feature is a managed catalog for streaming sessions, not unrestricted access to CurseForge or a player’s personal CurseForge library. NVIDIA’s support FAQ described the offering as “top 25+ CurseForge Addons”; its August 29, 2024 list and exclusions should not be treated as a verified current catalog. NVIDIA’s August 15, 2024 announcement and GeForce NOW’s add-on FAQ establish the launch scope.
How to enable add-ons in a GeForce NOW WoW session
- Use a paid GeForce NOW membership. NVIDIA says the feature is unavailable to free members. Its launch post specifically named Ultimate and Priority, including Day Pass users.
- Launch a supported version of World of Warcraft through GeForce NOW. NVIDIA’s FAQ says add-ons are supported for the retail game, WoW Classic, and Cataclysm Classic versions supported by GeForce NOW.
- Open WoW’s in-game Addons menu and select from the available catalog. NVIDIA says you do not need a CurseForge account for this process; simply launch WoW and enable add-ons from the game menu.
- Return to the game. NVIDIA says selected add-ons are updated automatically and choices are remembered for later game launches.
Those steps describe NVIDIA’s documented feature, not a guarantee that every item in the catalog works with every WoW version. Add-ons may need to be updated by their authors for a game update.

What carries between sessions—and what does not
NVIDIA’s FAQ says selected add-on settings are stored in GeForce NOW cloud storage. They persist between game launches and are available on supported devices when you use the same GeForce NOW account. They are not saved to your local PC or synced to a local WoW installation.
This differs from managing add-ons on a locally installed copy of WoW: GeForce NOW’s documented process avoids a local add-on setup and uses NVIDIA’s managed selection, while a local installation is separate. The sources do not establish a performance, latency, or price advantage over local play.

What the announcement does—and does not—say about Midnight
NVIDIA’s cited announcement and FAQ date from August 2024 and framed the feature around The War Within. Blizzard later changed add-on requirements for Midnight, including rules intended to prevent add-ons from automating combat decisions while retaining many interface appearance and information-presentation functions. Blizzard’s March 3, 2026 notes say add-ons not updated by their authors for Midnight will not be allowed to load in Midnight and beyond.
That is a game-side compatibility change; it does not identify the add-ons NVIDIA has deployed through GeForce NOW today. The available NVIDIA documentation cited here does not verify the current catalog or which entries work with Midnight. Check the in-game catalog and the add-on author’s compatibility information rather than assuming the 2024 selection still applies. See Blizzard’s add-on policy update and its March 3, 2026 pre-expansion notes.

Who this feature is for
- Useful: WoW players streaming through GeForce NOW who want to enable an add-on from the game menu without setting it up on a local gaming PC.
- Not a fit if you need: arbitrary CurseForge add-ons, your full personal add-on collection, or a guaranteed specific add-on. The documented GeForce NOW option is a selected catalog.
- Check first if you play Midnight: Blizzard’s later compatibility rules mean author updates matter, and the cited NVIDIA materials do not confirm the current GeForce NOW catalog for that expansion.
