How to find your direction in Limgrave
Important Sites of Grace emit a faint golden trail toward significant destinations, including legacy dungeons and major bosses. After you find Limgrave’s map fragment, this guidance also appears on the map. It indicates a useful direction, not a mandatory itinerary. Bandai Namco’s gameplay overview describes this guidance and suggests Limgrave → Liurnia of the Lakes → Caelid as a general progression for players unsure where to go.

As you uncover the map, look for distinct symbols and structures that suggest places to investigate. You can place map beacons to mark a destination: a marker appears on the compass, with a blue light visible in the world. Some areas remain obscured until you explore enough to reveal them.
What to look for while exploring
Landmarks can point to useful rewards as well as optional challenges. Bandai Namco recommends investigating recognizable map features such as churches, Minor Erdtrees, tunnels, and Evergaols. This is a way to choose worthwhile detours, not a complete inventory of Limgrave’s locations.

- Churches: The official guide says churches always have a Site of Grace and are the primary source of Sacred Tears, which improve flask effectiveness.
- Minor Erdtrees: These offer Crystal Tears, which let you customize the Wondrous Physick.
- Unmarked encounters: Some field or world bosses do not have map icons, so a clear map does not mean every encounter has been found.
- Night-time encounters: Certain enemy types appear at night. Changing the time can reveal encounters you would miss by only exploring during the day.

A practical way to choose your next stop
- Follow the Grace trail when you want a clear pointer toward a significant destination.
- Take a detour to a visible landmark when you want to explore or look for rewards before continuing.
- Mark destinations you spot with map beacons so you can find them again.
- Make a night-time pass if you want to check for encounters that do not appear during the day.
- Move on when you are ready. Liurnia of the Lakes is the next region in the publisher’s general progression, but the route is not compulsory.

What comes after Limgrave?
Bandai Namco’s general progression for players who need a direction is Limgrave → Liurnia of the Lakes → Caelid. Treat it as a broad route through an open world, not a rule that prevents detours or travel elsewhere. The official Elden Ring site provides information about the game and its editions.
