What is the ROG Azoth Extreme?
ASUS announced the ROG Azoth Extreme in Australia on July 22, 2024. It uses a compact 75% layout: a smaller footprint than a full-size keyboard, while retaining more keys and navigation controls than a compact 60% board. Its chassis is aluminum alloy, and ASUS lists the keyboard at 332 x 139 x 40 mm and 2,200 g with the wrist rest.
The construction combines a carbon-fiber positioning plate with an adjustable gasket mount. ASUS lists per-key RGB lighting and N-key rollover as well.
What does the OLED screen and control knob do?
The keyboard has a 1.47-inch full-color OLED touchscreen and a three-way control knob. ASUS says the display can show keyboard status and settings such as brightness and volume; the knob provides a way to access controls. The screen is therefore a built-in status and adjustment interface, rather than a separate monitor or a substitute for the keyboard’s keys.

These are ASUS-listed specifications, not independent performance measurements. ASUS specifies 8,000 Hz reporting over USB and RF only when the ROG Polling Rate Booster is used; do not treat that figure as the keyboard’s default reporting rate.
How does it connect, and what should buyers consider?
ASUS describes three connection modes: wired USB, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz RF wireless using SpeedNova. That gives owners options for a wired desktop setup or wireless use, but the available specifications do not establish battery life. Anyone planning long wireless sessions should look for a verified battery-life figure rather than infer one from the connectivity details.

Hot-swappable switches let owners replace compatible switches without soldering, but the listed Snow and Storm options do not establish that every third-party switch will be compatible.
