Which one is better value if you already have Netflix?
Netflix is the lower-friction choice for an existing subscriber
If you already have an active Netflix membership, you can access its games without adding a games-only subscription. That makes Netflix the straightforward place to start if you want to try included mobile games or are curious about its TV and computer beta. It is more accurate to call the games included with Netflix than free: access depends on an active paid membership.
At the time checked, Netflix’s US plans page listed Standard with ads at $8.99/month, Standard at $19.99/month, and Premium at $26.99/month. Those are the costs of the Netflix plans, not incremental game charges. Regional pricing and package terms may differ. [Netflix Plans and Pricing]

Arcade has a separate price unless it comes with a bundle or offer
Apple’s US page listed Arcade at $6.99/month or $49.99/year. It also advertises a three-month offer with an eligible new Apple device and the option to get Arcade through Apple One; check the terms shown for your account and region. [Apple Arcade]
The useful comparison is the extra cost you would pay from where you are now. If Netflix is already in your household budget, try its games before adding Arcade. If you do not subscribe to Netflix, do not compare Arcade’s fee with the full cost of Netflix as though either were a gaming-only service.
Which service has the games you want?
Apple Arcade: a dedicated, curated catalog
Apple describes Arcade as a catalog of hundreds of premium games, including Arcade Originals and App Store Greats. Its page showcases titles such as Sneaky Sasquatch, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, NBA 2K26 Arcade Edition, SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit 2, Football Manager 2026 Touch, NFL Retro Bowl ’26, Suika Game+, and Bloons TD 6+. These are examples shown on Apple’s live page, not a guarantee that every title will remain available. [Apple Arcade]

Netflix: check the live directory for current titles
Netflix’s games directory lists mobile titles across genres and includes examples such as Street Fighter IV CE, Solitaire, and The Queen’s Gambit Chess. The directory changes, so look up a specific game rather than relying on a remembered list. [Netflix games directory]
Neither service’s catalog count establishes which has better games, and the cited pages do not provide a directly comparable total. Before subscribing, check the exact title, the platform it supports, and whether you mean the subscription version or a separate release. A familiar name does not guarantee that the same edition or save data carries over.
Where can you play, and what controls do you need?
Apple Arcade covers several Apple device types
Apple lists iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K, and Apple Vision Pro as Arcade platforms. Arcade Originals are available across those platforms; App Store Greats are listed for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. Availability still depends on the individual game. Many games support a controller, and Apple says some Apple TV 4K games require one, so check the game’s listing before planning to play on a TV. [Apple Arcade]

Netflix mobile games run on supported phones and tablets
Netflix mobile games are downloaded to supported Android and Apple devices. Requirements vary by title; Netflix’s help page recommends Android 9, iOS 17, and iPadOS 17 or later for the best experience across games at the time checked, while an individual game may require a newer system. You need an internet connection to download and install a game, as well as enough available storage. [Netflix mobile games help]
Netflix TV and computer games remain a limited beta
Netflix says its TV and computer gaming experience is a beta and is not available in all countries or on all devices. On computers, games can launch in Chrome or Edge. Depending on the game, controls may be keyboard and mouse, a trackpad, or a phone or tablet used as a controller. Treat this as an option to check for your location and device, not as broad console-style availability. [Netflix TV and computer games help]

Offline play, ads, and purchases
Apple explicitly advertises Arcade games as playable online or offline, without ads or in-app purchases. Netflix says its games have no ads, fees, or in-app purchases. For Netflix mobile games, an internet connection is required for download and installation, but its mobile help page does not make a universal promise that every downloaded game can then be played offline. If offline play is essential, check the requirements for the specific Netflix title rather than assuming all games behave alike. How family access, profiles, and saves work
Apple uses Family Sharing
Apple says an Arcade subscription can be shared with up to five other family members through Family Sharing, at no extra cost. If you cancel, access to Arcade games ends. Apple says progress remains available if iCloud is enabled and you resubscribe. [Apple Arcade]
Netflix games follow account profiles and plan terms
Netflix games use a Netflix account and the profile selected for play; saves may be stored locally or through cloud saves. Netflix’s directory says games are not available to Kids profiles, and save data from a previously released game cannot transfer to a Netflix version. Access also sits within the Netflix plan’s account and device terms, which are different from Apple’s Family Sharing arrangement. Quick Recap
A quick decision checklist
- Already pay for Netflix and want to try included games? Start with Netflix’s live directory; you do not need a separate games subscription to access the included catalog.
- Want a dedicated Apple-focused game service? Consider Arcade if its current catalog includes titles you want and your devices support them.
- Need offline play? Apple explicitly advertises it. For Netflix, confirm behavior for each game you plan to play.
- Want to play on a TV or computer? Check Netflix’s beta availability for your country and device, or verify that the particular Arcade game supports your Apple TV or Mac.
- Choosing for a household? Check Apple Family Sharing eligibility or Netflix’s profile, plan, and device terms; Netflix games are unavailable to Kids profiles.
- Need a controller? Check the game listing and target device before buying or connecting one; some Apple TV 4K games require a controller.
