Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor official NHL scores, schedules, and goalie stats on your phone, start with the NHL app or NHL.com. Use GameCenter for a live game, the schedule for upcoming matchups and results, and a game box score or player page for goalie performance. Turn on team or game alerts if you want updates without repeatedly opening the app.
Choose the phone route that fits how you follow hockey
| Route | Best for | What the official pages describe |
|---|---|---|
| NHL app | League-wide scores, game coverage, player pages, and alerts | The NHL lists up-to-the-minute scores, play-by-play and in-game highlights in GameCenter, along with player pages and alerts. Android live lock-screen updates are listed for NHL App v17.0 and later; availability and labels can vary by platform and version. NHL app features |
| NHL.com on your phone | A date-oriented schedule, past results, and links to game coverage | Schedule listings show dated matchups and results and link to GameCenter; results can include the winning goalie. See the current NHL schedule. |
| Your team’s official app | Team-specific schedules, score alerts, box scores, and player information | Feature sets differ by club. For example, Buffalo lists real-time scores, box scores, player stats, shot charts, league-wide stats, and calendar additions; Colorado lists live box scores, play-by-play, and player stats; Toronto advertises score alerts and updating player stats. Sabres app, Avalanche app, Leafs app |
If you mainly follow several teams or want league-wide coverage, the NHL app is the natural starting point. Choose a team app when its club-focused features suit you. For a quick check of dates and completed games, open NHL.com’s schedule in your browser.
Follow a live score and find the box score
- Open the NHL app’s GameCenter or an official team app’s live game view. If using a browser, start at NHL.com’s schedule and select the game’s GameCenter link.
- Check the game state. Read the score along with the period and game clock, then use play-by-play to follow how the score changed.
- Open the box score. Look for goalie statistics there; the exact fields and their labels can differ by page or app version.
- For a player-focused view, open the goalie’s player page or statistics view. Confirm that the selected player and season are the ones you mean before interpreting the numbers.
Find upcoming games, dates, and past results
Use the NHL schedule when you want to browse by date rather than follow a live game. Each listing connects the matchup to GameCenter, and completed listings can show the result and winning goalie. The page changes as games are played, so use the current schedule rather than relying on a saved slate. Check the displayed date and time zone before planning around a start time.
Some team apps add calendar integration. Buffalo’s official app page, for example, says games can be added to a calendar; that feature should not be assumed for every club app. Sabres app features

Turn on useful score and game alerts
The NHL app FAQ lists game-start, goal, and period-summary alerts. The NHL app feature page also describes Android lock-screen updates for a game or selected teams, with NHL App v17.0 or later required for the listed new features. Check your app’s current notification settings and your phone’s notification permissions; available options depend on app version and platform. NHL app features · NHL app FAQ

GameCenter score and play-by-play coverage can help you follow a game, but video access is a separate question. The NHL FAQ describes GameCenter LIVE as offering live out-of-market games, with blackouts and other restrictions, as well as home or away broadcasts and full-length replays. That FAQ’s product wording may be dated; check the current NHL How to Watch information and local broadcast details for your location before relying on a service or assuming a game is available.
