Turn on player-status or injury push alerts in your fantasy app, make sure your phone allows that app to send notifications, and check the settings for the specific team or league you manage. The exact controls differ by platform, and alerts can help surface news but are not guaranteed to arrive instantly or for every late status change.
Set up alerts in your fantasy football app
Use the instructions for your platform below. Menu labels can change between app versions, so if a path does not match what you see, check the app’s current help center or in-app support.
ESPN Fantasy
- Open the ESPN Fantasy app and tap the Gear icon.
- Choose Alert Preferences and turn alerts on.
- Review the preferences for each fantasy team and enable Player Status if it is offered.
ESPN says alert preferences can be set for each fantasy team. Its league-preferences guidance also says settings are individual, so changing one league’s preferences does not change another’s. See ESPN Fantasy App and Alerts and Adjusting Fantasy Alert Preferences.
Yahoo Fantasy on iPhone or iPad
- From Fantasy Home, tap Profile, then Settings.
- Tap Push Notification Settings.
- Select the team or notification type, then turn on the options you want, including injury-status updates if available.

Yahoo Fantasy on Android
- From Fantasy Home, tap the Profile icon.
- Choose Edit Team Notifications and select the team.
- Choose the notification types you want, including injury status if available.

Sleeper
- Allow notifications for Sleeper in your phone’s operating-system settings.
- In Sleeper, inspect its notification settings and enable relevant app channels and topics.
Sleeper documents both device-level and in-app controls, and says mobile push notifications are its only alert delivery method. The reviewed instructions do not identify a dedicated injury-only toggle, so check the current options rather than assuming there is a specific injury category. NFL Fantasy
NFL documents alert controls in both its website and app. The cited support page is primarily an unsubscribe guide, so treat these as the documented locations of the controls and check the labels in your current version.
- Website: Open the relevant league, go to My Team, choose Edit Settings, then look under Manage my team and league alerts.
- App: Open the league’s More menu, then Team Settings, and look for Email Notifications or Push Notifications.

- Confirm injury, player-status, or relevant news alerts are enabled for the correct team or league inside the fantasy app.
- Open your phone’s operating-system settings, find the fantasy app, and allow notifications.
- Check that you are signed into the account that contains the league and team you meant to configure.
- If the menu names differ, consult that platform’s current help center or in-app support.
What late injury alerts can—and cannot—tell you
Alert settings can make injury or player-status information available as a push notification, but the official platform instructions cited here do not promise a delivery-time guarantee or say that every late status change will trigger an alert. If a lineup decision is time-sensitive, use alerts as one way to notice news rather than as a guarantee that you will be notified in time.
