UEFA Nations League apps can disagree because they may show match updates at different times, calculate a live table while games are still in progress, or present standings for different competition phases. For a completed 2026/27 league phase, UEFA’s rules—not overall goal difference by default—determine how teams level on points are ranked.
Why can two apps show different scores or standings?
- The match may be at a different update state. If a game is live, one display may have refreshed before another. Compare the score, match status and time shown, then refresh both. A live table can be provisional while relevant matches are still being played.
- The displays may cover different competitions or phases. Check the edition, league, group and phase in each app. A league-phase table is not necessarily the same view as an overall ranking or a later play-off or knockout context.
- A tie may be calculated using the wrong assumption. For the 2026/27 league phase, UEFA applies head-to-head criteria before overall group statistics when teams finish level on points.
UEFA’s official sources set the competition rules and link to its official app, but do not identify the data providers, refresh intervals or live-ranking logic used by third-party apps. A discrepancy alone is not enough to show which app is wrong.
How UEFA awards points in the 2026/27 league phase
Under Article 14 of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League regulations, teams play each other home and away in their group. A win earns three points, a draw one and a defeat none. Final group standings after the league phase are based on points.
How UEFA breaks ties on points
When teams are level on points at the completion of the league phase, Article 15 of the 2026/27 regulations applies these criteria in order:

- Lower disciplinary-points total for yellow and red cards received by players and team officials in all group matches. A red card is three points, a yellow card one point, and dismissal for two yellows in a match three points.
- Higher position in the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League access list.
That order matters: overall group goal difference is criterion five, not the first tie-break. A table that uses it before the head-to-head criteria may therefore differ from UEFA’s final ranking.

How to check which display to trust
- Match the context: confirm both apps show the 2026/27 edition, the same league and group, and the same phase.
- Check the match state: compare the score and whether each match is live or finished. If games are in progress, refresh and allow for update timing to differ.
- Compare points: for a completed league phase, verify points first, then use UEFA’s tie-break order rather than assuming overall goal difference decides.
- Verify the final result: consult UEFA’s Nations League page, its official app linked there, and the current regulations. Note the time and phase when comparing app displays.
- For a persistent app-specific mismatch: check that app’s help pages or data-source disclosures. UEFA’s cited materials do not establish how another app sources or refreshes its information.
