A WNBA League Pass blackout usually means another broadcaster has the live rights to that game in your location. To check a specific matchup, enter your ZIP code on the WNBA League Pass page, then confirm the game’s broadcaster on the WNBA schedule. If the game is unavailable live on League Pass, the listed local or national broadcaster is the place to look.
Why a WNBA game is blacked out
Blackouts are rights restrictions, not a problem with your account or device. The WNBA says local and national content providers have exclusive rights to televise some games live. League Pass availability therefore depends on the matchup and where you are watching.

Local blackouts in the United States
A local telecast of your WNBA team may be unavailable live on League Pass within that team’s broadcast footprint. The WNBA says it uses your IP address or enabled location services to determine your location; in the US, a ZIP code helps identify local team coverage. Because the restriction follows location, moving to another area can change which games are blacked out.
National broadcasts
In the US, games carried nationally on designated outlets are not available live on League Pass. The WNBA blackout help page, updated August 12, 2026, names ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Amazon Prime Video. The WNBA’s FAQ and product page do not show perfectly identical outlet lists, so treat the schedule’s listing for the particular game as the practical guide rather than relying on a static channel list.

Canada and other markets
In Canada, the WNBA identifies games nationally carried by TSN, Sportsnet (SN), CTV, and CTV2 as unavailable live on League Pass. The FAQ also identifies select LIVE Tempo games as unavailable live in Canada. Check the current schedule because games and providers can change.
The WNBA says games are available live on League Pass in countries where the service is offered, except for local and national blackout restrictions in the US and Canada. This does not mean League Pass is available in every country.

Special events
The WNBA blackout page says the All-Star Friday Night event, WNBA All-Star Game, and Commissioner’s Cup championship game will not be live on League Pass in the US or Canada, and will be available on demand after they conclude. Check the current season’s terms for the event you plan to watch.
How to check whether a game is available in your area
- Check League Pass by ZIP code. Open the WNBA League Pass page and use its ZIP-code checker for US local availability.
- Find the exact matchup. On the WNBA schedule, look for the game’s broadcaster or “Where Can I Watch” information. Check the listing for your market, not just the team names.
- Confirm close to tipoff. Broadcaster and distributor information can change, and the WNBA says its lists are subject to updates.
- Use the listed broadcaster for live viewing. Depending on the game and market, that may be a local broadcast station, regional sports network, or national distributor. A subscription to one service does not necessarily carry every matchup.
- Check League Pass again after the game. Replay availability depends on whether the restriction was local or national and, in Canada, on the national blackout rule.
When a blacked-out game’s replay becomes available
| Blackout type | Replay timing stated by the WNBA |
|---|---|
| US national blackout | On demand at 6 a.m. Eastern Time the following day. |
| US local blackout | Shortly after the game concludes. |
| Canada national blackout | Shortly after the game concludes. |
These timings come from the WNBA’s blackout help page. Look there for the current rule if a replay has not appeared when expected.

What League Pass and devices can—and cannot—do
League Pass is useful for out-of-market games and on-demand viewing, but it does not make every game available live. The WNBA’s 2026 broadcast announcement says League Pass will stream select live games, with local blackouts possible. For a live game blocked in your area, follow the game-specific broadcaster listing.
League Pass supports devices including Amazon Fire TV, but switching to another supported device does not change broadcast rights or remove a blackout. The WNBA also offers League Pass through Amazon Prime Subscriptions in select markets; subscriptions purchased through Amazon Prime can be watched only on Amazon Prime platforms.

Sources and details that can change
The WNBA’s 2026 broadcast schedule announcement names ABC/ESPN, CBS/Paramount+, NBC/Peacock, Prime Video, ION, USA Network, and NBA TV among its broadcast partners. That does not mean each partner carries every game or serves every market. Prices, offers, channels, and local footprints can change; for a particular game, use the ZIP checker and the current schedule. The WNBA’s League Pass FAQ and subscriber agreement provide additional product and service terms.
