Clear the four Junon Fort Condor boards during Chapter 4’s Phenomenon Intel, then revisit their locations after clearing all four to unlock their Hard Mode rematches. The most reliable approach is to read the upcoming enemy types and lanes, deploy the unit that counters the next threat, and avoid spending all your ATB at once.
How to unlock all eight Fort Condor missions
Fort Condor is a strategy minigame about positioning units to defend your base and destroy the enemy base, as Square Enix’s game page describes it. In the Junon Region, start the Phenomenon Intel in Chapter 4 and clear each of its four boards in Normal Mode. Once all four are complete, return to those Phenomenon Intel locations to play the Hard Mode versions. PowerPyx reports that completing all Hard Mode minigames is required to unlock every item in Johnny’s Treasure Trove.
How to win a Fort Condor match
Counter the next enemy in its lane
Watch the upcoming-unit indicators and lane information on the right side of the board. Fort Condor’s unit triangle works like rock-paper-scissors: Enforcers counter Vanguard, Vanguard counter Ranged, and Ranged counter Enforcers. Spend ATB on the counter suited to the approaching unit and place it in the lane where that threat is coming from.
Manage ATB and heroes
Before the match, check the opponent’s team and choose two heroes from Cloud, Tifa, and Barret to support the units you expect to deploy. Their charges are tied to deploying units in matching roles: Cloud to Defense, Tifa to Vanguard, and Barret to Ranged. A practical rhythm is to inspect the next wave, deploy a counter, and keep enough ATB for a likely follow-up rather than emptying the gauge immediately. Use a hero when a group creates a useful opportunity, then keep pressure on a lane as your units advance.

Normal Mode: stage-by-stage guidance
The following are recommendations from the GameFAQs walkthrough author, not guaranteed deployment scripts. Enemy timing and the situation on your board can change how useful any single tactic is.
Stage 1
Use this board to get comfortable reading lanes and matching counters to enemy roles. The walkthrough author suggests placing a Cleric behind a group that is already advancing so it can sustain the push.

Stage 2
Watch for Archfiends, which the walkthrough author warns can rush through your line and damage your base. They suggest holding a Cleric for the lane until its Archfiend appears; otherwise, the basic counter-first method still applies.
Stage 3
The Wyvern calls for units that can attack flying enemies, such as archers or other ranged units. Use counters for the other enemy types, and consider Clerics and a siege unit to sustain your advance and deal damage from range.

Stage 4
The walkthrough author says Gilgamesh can disrupt groups with area attacks and create a toxic floor effect. Avoid committing every unit at once. Keep reserves available and use siege attacks where possible so melee units do not need to stand in the damaging area.
Hard Mode: team choice and tactics
PowerPyx recommends the Balanced team setup for the first three Hard boards and Offense Focused for the fourth. Across the boards, keep checking the next enemy type and send one or two counters rather than deploying blindly. PowerPyx also advises using stronger units when their ATB cost is manageable and using Cloud and Barret’s area attacks against clusters. The GameFAQs guide likewise favors stronger elite counters and healing support, while warning that an enemy wave may change unit type; treat those as that author’s tactical advice, not a fixed winning sequence.

Why use Offense Focused on Hard Stage 4?
For the fourth Hard board, PowerPyx recommends clearing the enemies around the boss, then using the ranged siege units in the Offense Focused setup to attack it. Its reasoning is that poison near the boss harms melee units, so ranged siege pressure can avoid sending them into that area.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When to switch the game to Easy
The game’s combat difficulty and a Fort Condor board’s Normal or Hard label are separate settings. According to PowerPyx, setting combat difficulty to Easy speeds ATB recharge, giving you more frequent opportunities to deploy units even while replaying a Hard board. Switch to Easy if you need more room to respond to incoming waves; it does not turn a Hard board into a Normal one.
