Nintendo Japan’s official Switch schedule lists three games for October 8, 2026: KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, Kemono Heroes, and 超射的バトル. Famitsu’s October calendar adds three more Switch candidates, while D3 Publisher separately confirms a Switch 2 download release of 地球防衛軍5. These listings come from different sources and platforms, so the distinction matters.
Nintendo-confirmed Switch releases
Nintendo Japan’s official software schedule lists the following Nintendo Switch titles for October 8 and marks each as available to reserve. The schedule confirms the date and platform; it does not provide a price or age rating in the cited listing.

Additional Switch titles listed by Famitsu
Famitsu’s October Switch release calendar, updated October 3, 2026, lists these further titles for October 8. Treat them as third-party calendar entries rather than Nintendo-confirmed schedule items.

Separate Switch 2 release: 地球防衛軍5
D3 Publisher lists 地球防衛軍5 for Nintendo Switch 2 as a download release on October 8, 2026. The publisher gives a tax-inclusive price of ¥3,980 and a CERO D rating (17+). This is a Switch 2 release confirmed by the publisher, not one of the three titles on Nintendo Japan’s Switch schedule.

- Challenge others anytime, anywhere, whether you're on the couch or on the go
- Play any way you want—locally, online, in TV mode, Tabletop mode, Handheld mode, or even with GameCube Controllers

- Face off in 2-4 player battles, or play against the computer
Check D3 Publisher’s new-release schedule for the listing. Nintendo’s catalog explains that Switch 2 software is marked by a red header band in its storefronts; that helps distinguish it from Switch software when checking a product page.
How to check the right listing before buying
- Open the product page in the Japanese Nintendo eShop on your console or in Nintendo Store on the web or mobile. Nintendo describes these as purchase routes for digital software.
- Confirm the platform shown on the product page. Switch and Switch 2 are not interchangeable labels; the 地球防衛軍5 entry above is specifically for Switch 2.
- Check the release date and format on that title’s current listing. A calendar entry for an eShop download does not establish that a physical edition exists, and a Switch listing does not automatically indicate a Switch 2 version.
- Review the price and age rating on the product page where they are provided. Nintendo says its displayed Switch 2 eShop prices include tax.
Nintendo’s download-purchase guidance explains eShop and Nintendo Store purchase routes and says that packaged and download versions have the same content when both versions exist. That general guidance does not confirm that a particular title is sold in both formats.

Release-date snapshot, not a final guarantee
The Nintendo, Famitsu, and D3 Publisher pages identify the October 8, 2026 lineup as listed at the time of their schedules; release calendars can change. Before purchasing, verify the title, region, platform, format, date, and price on the current Japanese storefront or publisher page.
