To complete the Volatile Flintbeetles Hunt Wish, accept it at the Wishwall in Bone Bottom, defeat three Flintbeetles in The Marrow, collect their Flintgems, and return to the Wishwall for a Memory Locket. Flintbeetles leave explosive trails and burst when defeated, so keep moving and attack during openings.
How to start the Volatile Flintbeetles Wish
Find the Wishwall in Bone Bottom and accept the Volatile Flintbeetles Hunt Wish before searching. It becomes available after Hornet visits Greymoor or Shellwood, though another guide describes the unlock as exploring Far Fields; the exact timing may therefore vary with your route.
The objective is to defeat three Flintbeetles in The Marrow and collect all three Flintgems. Without accepting the Wish, you may not be able to complete the hunt objective.
Where to find the three Flintbeetles
The Flintbeetles are spread across The Marrow. Use these broad landmarks rather than expecting exact map pins:

- Western Marrow: Look near the Bone Bottom entrance.
- Upper Marrow: Search along the high route, near the Lost Flea vicinity.
- Eastern Marrow: Check toward the path leading to Hunter’s March.
One spawn can shift depending on whether the shortcut after the Bellshrine/Bell Beast route is open. If a landmark does not match your map, follow the local clues instead of assuming the beetle is missing.
Track Flintbeetles or travel straight to their areas?
Interact with Flintbeetle dung or stone-sheddings to reveal a temporary trail. The Wish itself does not add map markers, so the clues are useful if you want to explore the intended route or confirm a location.

Reported spawn areas are fixed enough to make direct travel a faster option if you already know the landmarks. Clue-following is better if you prefer to search organically or your shortcut progress may have changed a spawn. Either way, check for dung or stone-sheddings when the expected location is empty.
How to fight Flintbeetles
Flintbeetles roll or leap while leaving explosive trails, can launch projectiles, and explode when defeated. Guide-based advice is to stay mobile, avoid lingering in the trail, and take short attack openings rather than trying to keep attacking through their movement.

- Watch where the beetle is moving before closing in; its trail can make the ground dangerous.
- Use brief openings to land attacks, then reposition when it rolls, leaps, or fires projectiles.
- Give the beetle space when it is defeated so its explosion does not catch you.
- Clear nearby enemies where practical to reduce distractions during the fight.
Turn in the Flintgems and claim the reward
Once you have collected three Flintgems, return to Bone Bottom and interact with the Wishwall to complete the Hunt Wish. The reward is a Memory Locket, which unlocks a Crest Notch.

Bone Bottom is destroyed in Act 3. If the Wish is unfinished, it is removed from Tasks; the Memory Locket can instead be found on the ground at Survivor’s Camp. Complete the Wish before Act 3 if you want the hunt recorded as a completed Wish.
